Marley and Scrooge dropped by tonight!!!

First off...I spent my Forth Weekend eatng too much bar-b-que, drinking too little "American Piss Beer" and reading(finally)"The Long Dark Tea Time of the Soul".

I must say...the 'que was good, the lack of refreshment sucked but the book was fabulous!!!!!

As The Thing would say....'Nuff Said"!

Now...upon returning home today, showered and sufficiently refreshed and a few hours following, the stepdaughter brought in a couple of friends. Both dressed in black and sporting a rather large wad of chains down their britches.

The first through the door was a slight, rather inoffensive fellow. He...for reasons later made clear to me, headed straight for my shower.(poison oak)

The next through was a bit bigger but had to "curtsy" to avoid dragging his chains on my coffee table.

I "lost" it!!!!!LOL....had to get Monsy to retire to the outdoors with me so I could get the unstoppable laughs out of my system.

Once returning to the indoors we had to tell them what was so funny.

It was quite simple...."chain boy #1" was Marly, boy "#2" HAD to be Scroodge simply because his chains were so long!!!!!!

I think they left understanding that I thought they were the most rediculous thing I'd see in quite a while!!!

Oh well...been a fun weekend!

AAAAHHHHH.....The Wisdom of Youth!

Monsy and I just replaced our old 64 MB/RAM COMPAQ Presario/14" monitor with an HP Pavilion mx/70....with 562(?, thereabouts) MB/RAM with built-in CD burner and 17" monitor.

My 17 year old stepdaughter brought a friend home with her tonight. He complimented our new 'puter.

Her first comment was that a friend of hers(also 17) told her that buying this 'puter would be the biggest mistake we've made.

I asked her if she'd prefer I unplug this one and put the old "64" back in service.....funny...she didn't aswer that question!smiley - winkeye

Ah, youth. Ask them the questions while they still know it all!LOL

Here at H2G2 I have discovered, in my ramblings, that most political debates on this site are carried on by very young researchers.9close to my stepdaughters' age) It does not surprise me that they have no concept of how the world really works, nor can they carry out a debate without sinking to personal attacks.

Give them time. They will either learn, or be eliminated by those with better verbal skills. Either way, "the cream will rise to the top".

This can only be a good thing.

"Methinks Thou Doth Protest too much"

What is it with the young?

I have watched as the young 'uns attempt to find things to protest......for the last 35 years. I have found it a comedy of errors.

I have seen things come and go that would have been rightious causes...ignored. I have seen absolutely unworthy things protested to the point of ultimate sacrifice......'til the problem diappears on its' own.

Not only do they not know what to protest, they don't know how.

You'd have thought they would have picked up a history book and understood what they read by now.

No...no time, I suppose; for there is a windmill somewhere with their name on it!
