Are we through argueing yet? Can I raise my head without it getting shot off?
Good......can we get back to the business at hand now?
This is "The Hitch Hikers' Guide to the Galaxie". We're supposed to be writing the Earth Edition here.
Can we get back to business? ...or are we gonna stay on the "why you guys hate where I'm from" arguements from now on!?
Write an Article, and submit it. Make it your personal taste and point of view....then see if its' accepted...remember? thats' what we're in here for!

Quite before the Storm

The fervor has died down. The forums on the subject of 9/11 are quiet. The papers and the media have started reporting "other" news.
Now its' time to worry.
The battleships are in position. The planes are at their stations, the troops are on their way.......and "Dubya" has gotten quiet.
Now its' time to worry.
What will we do? How will the US handle this most delicate of invasions? Will Afganistan be a parking lot tomorrow? Will the Taliban hand over our most wanted fugitive? Will the world stand back and let us take care of our business?...or will they decide we are out of order? Will they assist us, or our enemies?
It is a dangerous time we live in. The world watches and waits. We do the same here.....and we all are in agreement.
Its' time to worry.

Enough With the US Bashing

No one will read this....which I really hate. If I post this anywhere else, it will only lead to more "we hate the US because" discussions.
Every forum I've been in on the subject of September 11 has wound its' way back to why everyone hates our government. Well...sometimes its' well founded....in your eyes.
I'm sorry your own government doesn't look out for your citizens' best interest, ours does. If its' not good for us, they don't do it...if it is, they are unstoppable in their quest.
For you Brits who dislike us so, please keep in mind that you created us. We still consider you the Mother Country. Just don't forget why the first settlers came here....to escape the terrany(sp.?)and oppression of your government. Could we say you were "arrogant"? Remember, this was back when "The Sun Never Sets on the British EMPIRE". What is this..."pot calling kettle black"? Are you so enlightened that you have forgotten where you have been?
Before you jump the gun and start saying that I just don't understand the world, keep in mind I'm no fool. No, I don't know the political problems in Italy, France or Germany.....but do you know the political problems in Tennessee, Mississippi or Montana? Do you even know where those places are?
You don't understand the physical SIZE of this great nation. We are 50 individual countries....most the size of any one European nation...united under a common leadership. Each of our little states has its' own rights and responsibilities, but for anything on an international scale, the "Federal" government has the authority.
We are a nation of immigrants. We all came here to get away from somewhere else(and you wonder why we don't give a hoot if you like us or not!?).....yes, even our "Native Americans" are from somewhere else.(though they got here LONG before we did.)
Myself...I proudly wear the Scottish sirname of Wallace....but in my viens runs the history of French, German and Cherokee. I am deeply proud of ALL of them. The viens of my country run rich with the lifeblood, knowledge and wisdom of every nation and creed on the face of this earth.
The world made us what we are. Why are we proud?....because the world brought us together, and it worked. No, it ain't been easy, but it worked. That only proves that arrogance has a place....when it is deserved.

The World Has Changed

No one will come here....no one will read my comments. That is all well and good. Probably best anyway.
I sit here as an American.....a Southern American. We view the world a bit differently than our other countrymen. I want something blown up. Period.
I realise we must wait until we know who to shoot at, but that doesn't change the need.
Until day before yesterday we assumed this terrorist bulls**t was "SOP", if the rest of the world wanted to put up with it, so be it....its' not, anymore. Its' our problem, too. I think we have a little different attitude about it than the rest of you.
I don't know who did this...I don't care. When we find out, it would be in the best interest of the harboring nation to send them to us IMMEDIATELY. The general consensus of my "running buddies" is "it needs to be turned into a lake".
Maybe thats' what it will take...nothing else has worked. I'm tired of being patient. So are all the "FOLKS"(for you Looney
) I know.
There may not be an alternative solution. God help us all if there isn't.

I've Been Playing in H2G2 Too Long

Its' a sad subject, but....
I saw in the paper today that a feller from Finland was killed in an auto wreck about 50 miles east of here yesterday......first thing that crossed my mind was, "I wonder if I knew him".
