If you are organising a Hamburg Meet, or elsewhere, I can do the following Saturdays: 9th, 23rd and 31st July, otherwise it would have to be September.

Flights look reasonable if booked now, and I should be able to a reasonably priced hotel with sufficient advanced notice.

Put me down as a probable, please!!!

That's why I suggested autumn. September or October. But please not winter. I've only ever seen Hamburg in the winter and would like to be able to see it for once without chattering teeth.

Yes, I think we should aim for September. October can be quite cold and wet already that far north.

I would prefer a date not much later than Saturday September 3rd when there is still a fair chance of fine weather, but let's have a vote on all saturdays in august and september, shall we?

The 6th and 13th of August are out for me, as that is my annual family holiday, and possibly the 3rd of September, although I can be flexible on that one.

But it is your Meet, so I'll go with the final decision.

I've never been to Germany. Will there be ICE trains from St Pancras then? I know they're thinking of it.

After the London meet 2009 I took the train from St Pancrass to Paris. Rather uneventful but nothing I regret either

You can go from Frankfurt, but have to change trains a couple of times, I think. And if you can go to Frankfurt, you can go to Hamburg, too.

They are planning to run the trains from St Pancras to Cologne, but this may not materialise in the foreseeable future. You can get to Brussels, though, which is a stone's throw from the German border.

(Well, if you crouch down and squint from the Irish coast, it probably doesn't look very far)
