i've had a few bodums over the years. and they are nice. in particular the new thermos bodums
but actually you don't need them. but of course then you have to be willing to sacrifice the last mouthfull of if you are very 'allergic' to grounds between your teeth
it aint that bad actually - and like it's been said earlier in this thread: you save a lot on filters and stuff
you should use those saving for buying the best coffee!

I'll second that (but loved the comment in the last posting on the previous page).
Like wine, there's too much preciousness about drinking coffee. However, there is one point. If you 'simply CAN'T' drink anything but 'filtered' coffee and you get stuck somewhere where they ain't to be had - not even for ready money - you will be distraught. I (an a few others) on the other hand, will be happily supping away - grounds and all!
I used to (many many years ago) have the same problem with the wrong sort of milk in tea. The simple solution was - of course - 'leave it out altogether' and I have never worried about milk in tea for the best part of fourty years!

If need be, a filter isn't really that hard to improvise - if you have clothes to wear, you have potential filters, too!

And the production of some 'interesting' flavours!

Well, what's a little foot-sweat compared to some of those ridiculous syrups Starbucks pour in coffee?

indeed!
come to think of it, when travelling in turkey and greece you always get with grounds - and it never really bothered me

My sis and I used to pinch coffee beans (that was before you could buy coffee powder everywhere, so you had to grind the beans yourself) and eat them.

so, i'm not spilling my coffee on my blouse, i'm giving it an extra filtering.

Well not the burned bit, of course. He doesn't have a Jeanne d'Arc fetish. Well, not as far as I know, anyway.
