oh well, it's not like it matters, is it?
we have this ancient estonian proverb here in denmark: do what you like, people will talk anyway

I people talking about me, it shows I'm noticed - it's WHEN they stop talking about me, I get worried

There's a saying in West Devon (where I originated) 'Tell your neighbours what you're doing, otherwise they'll make it up'.

As always, it's a matter of:
Ist der Ruf erst ruiniert
lebt's sich völlig ungeniert
Once your reputation is ruined you can live freely.

The great thing about losing your reputation, is that you can do anything you like, without the least fear of criticism or a guilty conscience.

reveal ridiculous stories about youself to your neighbours
usually better than having them knowing the real truth

Never take on any responsibilities, then you can behavee irresponsibly all the time.
also - I lesson I leared from my Lebanese colleagues:
'Regard the truth as a VERY precious (and finite) commodity. Use it sparingly and only when absolutely necessary.'

Aw thanks for the compliments - it was lovely to meet you too.
As for being talked about - well I've always said if people are talking about me (tough enough to take it) then they're leaving some other poor soul alone.

i couldn't be around for eexmas festivities this year
guess i might as well tell people that the werewolf and i are no longer an item and that i left eekland thursday, before the festivities took place over the weak end
but both the werewolf and i are okay about it, so dont you worry
and that's all there is to it
Key: Complain about this post
