oh yes Hapi - he is my daughter's favourite, not only because he bought the icecream for the girls when we walked from Altstadt to the TV-Tower, but when she wanted to give him the money for the lift in the tower, he told her to keep it and get some icecream for it...
And I thank him to make Northrhine-Westphalias politics clean (hint to Sho's report and the bit about his "accident" with the bubble-water)

Seems as you had a lovely meeting. Pity I couldn't make it. I've really enjoyed to look at the photos.

Yes, shame you couldn't make it.
But you have the advantage of not aching all over today from having walked that much (well, I assume you don't ache).

Glad you all had a great time Bel.
You all look lovely but RF gives me the fear. Does anyone look at him and think Paul Jones out of Manfred Mann?

>>Does anyone look at him and think Paul Jones out of Manfred Man<<
No, but then that's maybe because I didn't know what Paul Jones looks like?

You can call me TC Posted Aug 11, 2008
I had the same confusion - oddly enough - on Sunday morning. (Have I said this before?) The timetable said 11.27, but my printout and my ticket and the notice board said 11.17 - odd that we both had discrepancies between the 17 and the 27 mins past the hour, B'El.

Thanks Chris, that's the one I found when I googled this morning.
TC, do you think that's because of the construction work at Cologne main station? They'd clearly not go and reprint all the timetables.

You can call me TC Posted Aug 11, 2008
Probably, B'El. The only coincidence that that would leave us with would be that both our trains left at 17 mins past the hour - with 10 mins delay because of the trains coming in later from Cologne. No - wait a minute. That doesn't make sense either. I think I'll stop thinking about it .
And - hey Chris - I never realised the Paul Jones on Radio 2 was THAT Paul Jones. But there is absolutely no resemblance to RF. RF looks more like Kiefer Sutherland, really.

Sho - employed again! Posted Aug 11, 2008
Is that construction work at Köln due to the ICE accident?

You can call me TC Posted Aug 11, 2008
The one which caused all the ICE3's to be called in for checks and overhauls, putting all long distance rail traffic to a complete stop for a few days last month.

well.. Pierce and me arrived in T without any problem of course
Our friendly aeroplane company had the good fenfe to provyde us with featf in a moft comfortable aerplane, they named it a fokker. native bearerf brought our luggage on board, native women brought us refreshments.
(* note: don't drink in KLM planes .. it's brown and warm. so is sh|t *)
and the connecting flight left 15 minutes after we arrived in Amsterdam no time lost with waiting
(* KLM again.. ah well .. *)
In EEKland we could have found a place to sleep fairly soon, but Pierce insisted on circling around T airport until we'd seen the blond hitch hikers with mini skirts. we found those fairly easy; they were pictured more than life size on an advertisement for .. ah well .. never mind We didn't pick up the ad btw it wouldn't fit in the car.
The international motorway from T to R in EEKland is crowded around midnight. We saw at least five different cars, a horse and a few unidentified shadows.
hugs from Hati & from me

TC, I may have heard of that accident, but I'm not sure.
Hapi, glad you made it without any hassle.
Have a great time all - and I want to see pics of the xmas

It's in German, so will probably be removed soon.

I've yet to see a link to a German website to be removed, to be honest.
I've read that now, and I don't recall it at all. It was the weekend before *my* last issue, so I was busy with other things.
