I am trying to do some tidying up...daughter and family arriving lately. She told me not to but I have a big problem with horizontal surfaces...I have an overwhelming urge to fill them!
I've seen my consultant this morning who was very helpful but I may have to go again on Monday for a further procedure. ( I hope you've noticed that I'm sparing you the gory details )
The upshot of my early morning supermarket trip followed by my journey to the hospital has been my falling asleep on the sofa this afternoon. I'm reminded of that quote 'Age shall not wither them...' LOL
I expect you're having a restful weekend...enjoy it
Take care
Helen

Sorry Helen - must have missed you slightly - booofala is the local mozerrela - you have to mkae sure you shop at the right local shop on specific days to get the freshest - yesterday was Ciaccos shop!
Ruddy knee swelled up with all the walking though - I 'spose it's trying to tell me to slow down but I'm compelled to get the leg working as I need to drive once I'm back in the UK - places to go - peeps to see etc
Anyway - hows yourself - gradually improving I hope:
keep smiling

Aha - buffalo - i got you
I hope you're taking advice re the knee - physio, medic, other?
A bit better today thanks although still got the headache. The dog seems a bit better too
I thought you were off until the middle of August? Also, if you're a chief, why can't an indian drive you? It's your expertise they're paying for, not your driving skills.
I am addicted to a game on here called FreeCell lol
Everything seems to be conspiring against me on this machine...the software, my isp and now my firewall which I think will have to go the journey.
I am not good at reading instruction manuals!
Hope you've had a good weekend.

Helen
Well I'm listening to all the knee advice I can get - but most of it involves doing not a lot which is not my forte! Best thing is to keep my mind off the knee and onto better things
Yes I 'spose delegation is a good thing - but there are certain things that I will not go down that route on.
Wonder if the dog is picking up on your general state?
It always seems to be an admisson of defeat - reading manuals eh
The weekend was passable - especially lunch yesterday!
Here's to a better week

I had a feeling that would be the case...resting it!
Hmm...have I asked you what star sign you are? In the interests of research into stubbornness(sp) you understand
The temperatures have soared here today...even in the frozen north of County Durham so I am about to take the dog out now it's a little cooler. It's the antibiotics and steroids she's picking up lol
I am off to the hospital again tomorrow for another unspeakable procedure. However, that well known law seems to be in operation again - since I spoke to the consultant at lunchtime, it seems a little better. Had I not done anything, I expect I'd have been in agony again
It's the evenings I envy you for...having dinner on the terrace.
I could have supper on my terrace (rather grandiose for its size but I hate the word patio) here but we are being plagued by flies just now - a legacy of last week's rain and the mozzies will be out in force later (due to my proximity to the river).
Time for walkies...

Stubborn???? Moi???
Humm - it comes of being an old goat I 'spose
It's been a bit warm here - 39 in the shade - but yes - the mozzies are all out and about.
Sorry to hear you're having more done - I'm hoping my stuff has mainly finished now
Take care of yourself Helen

An old goat??? You too???
We haven't yet reached those temps...a mere 30 degrees, however it's supposed to get hotter.
The news is full of places where fires are burning; south of france, portugal, british columbia.
Do you think this is how the end of the world will be? We'll abuse this poor planet so much that it'll simply burn up? Mind you, it was puring here last week...my rickety guttering was struggling (something else rickety notice lol)
On a lighter note, isn't there a saying about a fat lady?
Goodnight Simon

Oh my word Helen - you're one as well - which part of the goat though? I'm on the 26th - yes - only one present!
Yes the planet's weather is becoming very strange - or different to what I remember anyway
I'ts 6am here - 27 degrees so not yet burning - promises to be a very hot one
I'm off to Albarobello - off to the Trulli - see if I can climb the hill - will take my stick to make sure!
Take care Helen - and good luck with your visit today - will you be there long?

I expect you'll have the swollen bits later - knees, ankles I mean
I'm the 30th as is my youngest grandson born last year - he seems to have the mule-like traits as well The other one, whose second birthday is next month is a great showman - destined to be an actor perhaps!
It's a minor procedure (I think) at the end of his clinic. The headaches are certainly better after what he did on Saturday so I'm hoping to get better very quickly now.
Dull and cloudy here and a lot cooler.
Speak later

I will look at your space...I am a terrible cook!
It went fine...he froze the whole thing...I won't say any more.
I am melting here and I almost killed the dog...thought it had cooled down a bit and took her out wiht a ball and tennis racquet...I thought she was going to have a heart attack when we got back. Had to cover her with a wet towel. I may send you a pic of her
I have been asked by my daughter to provide apple pies and chocolate cakes for a party they're having the weekend after next - this isn't the weather for pastry making OR for transporting chocolate cakes! I may have to purchase a cool box!
I've got 'Chicago' out on DVD so may watch it later.
Bye for now...
Helen
