Hello Simon
I just seem to be shattered - it was much worse coming back than going and I had a bit of a bad time with swelling feet and ankles - so much so that they gave me ice to put on them and found me somewhere to get my legs up. They still seem to be bothering me a bit although the swelling's gone down but I may go to the Doc's tomorrow. Particularly since I've just booked another flight today smiley - smiley

How have things been for you?

:o)

Off to Barcelona in three weeks, but only for the weekend. Meanwhile, I really need to get down to some tidying and some Christmas shopping. I went to Newcastle yesterday and found it very disheartening - so many people with so much shopping - I fear there will be nothing left when I mange to get myself in gear!

What will you do for the festive season -(apart from ambushing some unsuspecting secretary at the office party!)- are you off to Italy again?

Helen

Don't do it!! It's far too early to think about Christmas - though Barcelona sounds nice. It's only just November and the whole country seems to have gone mad shopping - consumer culture and all that. Urghh!

I'll hopefully get things sorted a week before the event!
I expect to be in the UK this Christmas - and there'll be no ambushing either - the office "do" tends to be too depressing to attend! smiley - sadface

Will you be back for Christmas?

Simon

I'm only going for three nights!!! smiley - smiley

I'm due to stay at my daughter's for Christmas in the company of my eldest son and his wife and Emma's 'outlaws'...I'm not that fond of the 'festive' season which seems to me to be a recipe for disaster!

You will be pelased to know (or not) that I've started the filing - this means that all the paper is in piles on my bed lol Now I'm about to break for coffee and watch some more of the DVD that's due back to Blockbusters today. It's a hard life smiley - smiley

It's 21.11 and I'm still filing smiley - smiley I have however, finished the DVD and taken it back. Now editing some of the pics I took although I still have 128mbs to download. My experience in New Zealand has convinced me that I really do need to invest in another camera with more mega pixels and a greater zoom facility. I've seen one I like but I haven't yet looked at the price!
See you tomorrow smiley - smiley

Hi Helen

It's about 12 hours later and I'm sat sitting looking at a load of filing I'm NOT gonna even attempt smiley - nahnah

Digi cams are all very well but the more the pixels the more the storage space necessery and the more time you're gonna spend downloading them.

There must be a balance somewhere eh! You'll have to decide if you're happy with your lot or are you one the Lichfield types who must have the perfection of 94 squillion pixels and a 5 grand camera?

Spent the evening trying to rest but kept getting disturbed by the artillery barrage that opened up down the road.

If the guns must be opened up at night I wish they'de do it where I used to live - near Salisbury plain - and not in the fields next door to me nowsmiley - smiley

I've totally forgotten where you live - must be because you're always travelling smiley - smiley

I found the problem arose when I wanted to zoom - it's ok with the optical zoom but you lose definition as soon as you try to use the digital zoom. I should point out that mine is only two. It was particularly annoying when I was taking pics and mini clips of the whales - we were close, but not that close.
I really like the camera I have which allows me to experiment and which was a good buy but I think if I'm going to do this seriously, I need to upgrade at some time (when I've paid for the travelling and managed to get a new car!)I expect you, as a thrusting young executive, have a company car smiley - smiley

I HATE winking!!!

Just had a nasty shock - the Membership Card arrived for the Frequent Flyer scheme I joined at Heathrow and the 22000 miles return journey isn't on there!!!!

When I checked at Auckland for the ongoing flight to Christchurch, she said my journey was being tracked. Now I'm thinking I should've re-checked at Auckland Check-In for the return journey.

It's hard for us novice long haulers.
