Yes but what is your favourite episode?
Mine is Private Plane.... except on Tuesday when it is the Dictionary one.
"Bring it out Sir! And also any opium plants you might have in there!"

caper_plip Posted Apr 23, 2003
"Bring it out, sir, or in my passion I shall break the door down and give everybody in the house syphilis!"
Hmmmm. Can't say I have a specific favourite, but Goodbyeee is always a touching one, and watching Stephen Fry beat the hell out of Hugh Laurie in Duel and Duality is always fun
I think... Beer

A girl I used to work with, a lovely girl called Amanda was at uni with one of the Percy family - I think it was the current Duke's younger brother or something.
Any way she said that he was exactly like Percy Percy in Blackadder II.
'hmmm this sausage is very suspicious. If I didn't know better I would say it was a horses...'

Favourite Blackadder episode? Now you're asking - that's far too hard!
Mind you, one of my favourite quotes is from the first episode of the 2nd series - "here is a purse of monies - which I'm not going to give you". I don't know why, but it cracks me up every time! I also love the one where Percy has to sleep with the baby-eating Bishop of Bath and Wells, hilarious!

It's so hard to choose just one episode, so i'll opt for Bells from Blackadder II
"Well young man what do they call you"
"Kate"
"Isn't that a bit of a girls name?"
"Oh..it's..euh... short for... Bob"

Amy and Amiability for me.
"Are you insulting my family name? Because if you are, I shall take of my belt and by thunder, me trousers will fall down!"
Actually, that's probably not my favourite episode. But it's definitely my favourite quote.

For me it has to be the one with the loopy nurse/spy "Eva Prawn"?????? who gives a "nice cheery smile and a hug to her special boys" in Blackadder Goes Forth.

Blackadder II (Beer) for me ... the opening lines are the best:-
Percy: I must say, Edmund, it was jolly nice of you to ask me to share your breakfast before the rigours of the day begin.
Edmund: Well, it is said, Percy, that civilised man seeks out good and intelligent company, so that, through learned discourse, he may rise above the savage and become closer to God
Percy: Yes, I've heard that.
Edmund: Personally, however, I like to start the day with a total dickhead to remind me I'm best.

Nursie: Oh, you're ever so clever, my sweet. You'd better be careful that your foot doesn't fall off.
Queenie: Is that what happens when you have an idea? Your foot falls off?
Nursie: My cousin ? had this wonderful idea of cutting his toenails with a scythe and his foot fell of!

Series two was definitely the best. He was so cutting, so very sharp. In Blackadder the Third he was simply rude and mean, although Prince George was remarkably stupid and funny, so it comes a close second.
I did watch the others as well, plus all the specials that I could get hold of, but you'll never find me giggling at the other two in the way that I did this one. "'Luck'! Sounds almost exactly like `f..." And they always died at the end of the series. Well, not always. In two and four I think they did.

In series 3 of course, Georgie gets killed, which is sad. But Stephen Fry's Wellington is hilarious!

Oh yes, all that punching, and Your Highness, Your Highness. And of course, my favourite saying - the men had a whip round to get you this. Or rather, I had them roundly whipped until they got you this. I stole this many a time.

Its the regimental crest - two dead frenchmen crossed on a mound of dead frenchman motif.

The one with the Spanish princess, and Baldrick - "Oh My luurve!". It also had Slater from Only Fools and Horses and (perhaps more famously) the father from Bridget Jones' Diary, as the translater.
The one with Tom Baker as the leg-less pirate, when they were stuck on the ship for months.
The one with the Puritain Uncle and Aunts - "Luck! Sounds just like...."
All three of the Bob ones (that includes the flying one)
The election one, with the Rotton Borough.
The Last Episode, for too many reasons, but particularly because at the end of it all they all had to do their duty.
But to be honest I don't think I've seen a one I haven't liked , the series was great. I just wish they'd made another one, maybe with Romans...

I know what you mean - it is Private Plane!
"Treat your kite like you treat your woman!"

Oh yes, thanks Abi - in Goes Forth. That's probably why I didn't recognise it.
