Smurfles if you run MS Windows and are on broadband they include a firewall I believe.

If you add a second firewall they can compete with each other depending on settings and not let mail and some other things work properly.

Free zonealarm is good for home users - no need to buy the other version. Zonealarm (free)is a good deal for dial-up I think.

Most ISPs with broadband have their own firewall- virus ware- pop-up stopper available. You can get two to work together but it takes some configurating usually. Sometimes the companies work it out within their programs.

You usually have to turn one off to add another ot make sure it is on the allowed list to add it.

hello all,oh!!am i ever useless with the computer, apparently i g i got it al wrong.....apart from the fact that we had virus's,but they're all gone now.smiley - applausefor hubby.
sheryl.well done to shannon, isn't it lovely when your children get glowing reports from school.I worry about the pressure of work in schools nowadays though,it isn't good when they've spent all day there, and then have three hours plus, homework every night. It's no wonder that children are feeling under pressure in their early yearssmiley - sadface.
