Mini-meet in Seville?
Teuchter Posted Aug 12, 2005
With apologies to those who are unable to make the trip...
I am poised to make flight bookings - coming out on Thursday 23 March - and going back on the Monday.
Have managed to get a cheapish deal £16.00 going out and £33 coming back - with taxes the total comes to £182.40 for the pair of us.
We could have had a £16.00 flight back on the Tuesday - but can't take any more time off work.
Are we definitely going for that weekend?

I was doing some searching and came across a flight with Virgin....
Rather ironic that it is via Virgin, really, since someone is getting screwed.... $7,000+ CDN!

I love the idea of having you as a guide, az, I hate going to foreign countries and only seeing the touristy things...

I take it this means you definitely *won't* be coming, Mudhooks?
Well, since Teuchter is eager to book flights (and possibly Ben and Z too) then how about the rest of the 'possibles' letting us know if there is a preference for a date other than March 24-26?

Teuchter, phone me just as soon as you've booked flights and I'll book onto the same ones for me and Z.

Plane tickets are booked
It's possible to get tickets for £16.00 (+taxes) each way from Gatwick if you can travel out on the Thursday and back on the Tuesday.
The thought of this Meet is what's going to keep me going through the winter.

Sorry, I could have been clearer. I've booked tickets to arrive on Thursday 23rd and leave on Tuesday 28th. So that is at least 6 hootizens in Seville that weekend.
Now we are definitely going to be there, what's the best thing to do for cheap accommodation Az?

Well, I guess that settles the date then . . .
But I think that's just fine as I don't think anyone on the 'possibles' list had any problem with the suggested date.
So there we have it.
March 24-26!
Be there or be square!

Ben,
re: accommodation, there is the pension down the street I mentioned before that is very cheap - 20 euros a night per person. It's quite a basic place and with shared bathrooms (five bathrooms for twelve rooms), but it's quite pleasant and clean. And it's right in the centre of town, just around the corner from where we live.
Other pensions (with ensuite baths) cost about 60+ euros a night (for two).
Hotels start at about 80 euros (for two).
I thought most people would be interested in the less expensive option as they probably wouldn't be spending much time there over a weekend anyhow.
Let me know which option you'd prefer.

Well Z's cheap and I'm easy, or maybe it's the other way round, I can never really tell, so €20 a night sounds good. Can you book us in, please?

It looks like flights would have to be booked closer to the date and a train ride from somewhere fairly close would be needed as well:
