Although my prof is planning a field trip to Barcelona, and I might be able to influence the timing - that would at least put me in the right country! I'd still need a flight back, though. And we might be going to Chicago or Tokyo instead.

Seville
Sevilla Airport (code - SVQ)
The delightful and underrated city of Seville can be reached with non-stop British Airways flights from Gatwick (2 hours 35 minutes) or by using its partner Iberia from Heathrow. No frills Ryanair departs from Stansted. Fares on the "full service" airlines generally start at around £80, which we feel is a reasonable price - probably we would start to consider delaying our trip if the flight cost rose to £120. The no frills flights do undercut this, depending on how far you book in advance and whether anyone else has stolen the cheaper seats from you.

Makes it harder for Z and me. Or dearer. *keeps googling*

By the way, given that I am about 4 hours drive from Stansted, what other airports are near you, Az? I'd rather do my driving at the other end. More holidayish.

I'll have to see how I'd even get to the airport, anything I can't get to by train within two hours is just about undoable, I fear.

Malaga is about a 2 1/2 hour drive from here (by car, train or bus).

It's looking more and more unfeasible, I'm afraid - unless several of us can meet up in Malaga and all hire a car or something.

I'll have to start compiling a little itinerary from Chicago. I actually live about 10 miles or so from O'Hare Airport, but the subway which passes near my house ends at O'Hare, so I could get there in under 30 minutes. Will see what flights from O'Hare to Malaga run.
Would we need to rent a car when we were able to manage a trip? I'd rather not, if we can avoid it.

I've found BA flights from Heathrow/Gatwick for £16.00 each way + taxes - but it would mean going on a Thursday and coming back later than the Sunday.

Still, staying a few nights longer might be cheaper than flying regular! I can't find any cheap flights

Mrs Zen Posted Aug 11, 2005
Jeeeze, Teuchter - can you give us the details? Z and I are both up for that! We'll take annual leave and come over.
Do we have an actual date yet?

Ben - go to BA dot com and enter the following stuff on the find flights section -
From - any London airport
To - Seville
Date of departure - 24 Mar +/- 3days
Date of return - 26 Mar +/- 3 days
You could also do the same for 17/19 March - since that was the other w/end mooted.

I'd love to come and see your beautiful city az...but alas all my holiday money for the year is tied up in the big Las Vegas trip (which is now booked and paid for, Mar 30th to April 14th)
I hope you manage to get a really good meet organised! I can imagine the excitement as the time draws nearer.

Well, so long as someone bangs on the front of my head and tells me the dates as soon as they are known, and so long as the prices are still reasonable, then I am up for it, and Z seems to be to.
Dear Teuchter....
... nice Teuchter ....
*friendly* Teuchter ....
....do you want a couple of Internet Wierdos to stay the night before going and the night after coming back? We are very clean. Well, I am. That way I'd be up for the long drive south. Otherwise, I am rather scared of the M6 at the moment.

Ben and Z - mia casa - etc.
Course you can stay here! I'm sure we can work out a way of avoiding airport car-parking - the expense of that could pay for a whole nother weekend away!
