Ok, just a little whinge about my hair then. If anyone can think of a way to make it better please jump in...
I have got really fine hair, the individual strands are barely there so that if I stand under a light then you can see my head through my hair. It is also neither curly nor straight, but somewhere in between. If I try for curly then I end up with big clumps that are straight, and if I try for straight then I end up with big isolated clumps of curls. If I do manage to get it straight, the slightest hint of humidity sends it frizzy. I have to wash and dry it every morning because the nighttime effect is really quite comical
What to do? Root lift spray helps to give a bit of volume, other wise it is flat as a pancake, but most curl-taming products seem really heavy on the hair *sigh*
Definitely going for an updo for my wedding so I don't have to worry about what it'll do on the day, and maybe I can pad it somehow so it doesn't just got totally flat on my head lke normal. bah.
My fiance is 6'5, I think I'm going to have to wear 6 inch platforms for our wedding photos - that or make the dress long enough to cover the box I'll be standing on

Kelli, H reckons he wakes up with a different woman every morning, my hair can do some really things over night!
All hail to setting mousse, root lift and any other product I can be bothered to slap on. But it is conditioner that really flattens my fine hair and I now use Aussie spray on and leave in conditioner. Also those finishing creams that prevent frizz are pretty good too. Finally a good spray with dear old Elnet in the gold cannister, will even hold my hair in place when the top is down on the car.

Kelli, Alterna makes some awesome volumizing products, including a hairspray that holds up in million % humidity, has great hold, and is shiny. I use their heat-activated volumizing leave-in conditioner as a root lifting spray close to the scalp. It's not drying like most of them are. For a straight look use a tiny bit of a smoothing product with dimethicone broken down very well in your hands on the bottom half of your hair. Blow it out with a big, round brush until it's completely dry. Stay away from products for curly hair--they're almost always designed for coarse, dry hair. You'll do better to look for a curling mousse that is made to activate curls rather than something designed to tame 'em.

I wonder if those products are called Pommie in Oz, Helelou .
I haven't seen Alterna products in this corner of the UK.
I think the worst enemy for fine hair are halogen lights, they bounce right of your scalp

hi everyone,
Just a reminder to please not leave anonymous comments on the photo page. It isn't necessary (I don't think) to put an email address, but at least your name so that people know who is commenting about them.
Heathen Sceptic,
It seemed obvious that your comment was from you and I have put a note saying so. If you prefer you can re-write your comment using your name and then I'll delete the one with my 'editor's note' on it.

Hi Az,
I thought it might amuse you and Heathen Sceptic to know that I downloaded that stunning "Ingres" photo of HS's beautiful back, did a drawing from it, and then incised it into a spherical pot I've just made. Fortuitously indeed, I was looking for an elongated nude for that precise purpose. So, a kind of immortality for HS. Hope you don't mind, HS, but if you put such delightful photos of yourself in the public domain, they become public property. Seriouslu beautiful.
When the pot's fired ( if it comes out OK ) I'll post a photo of it.
You won't recognise yourself ( I got rid of the hat) as a line-drawing.
Cheers,
Chaiwallah.

PS, Hi Az, that's not such a bad photo of the Chaiwallah, though it doesn't really do justice to the divine Leah, who was only a tiny five days old at the time. ( At least it doesn't show off the Chaiwallah Ganesh belly too badly....which I'm working fiendishly hard to reduce!)

I have the exact opposite problem of most of the women here, it seems. My hair isn't all that thick, but man, does it have some volume, and it's drier than a bone. So I'm a heavy conditioner, myself. Currently, it's Bed Head Self-Absorbed, but I think if I get the summer job I'm going for, it's back to Aveda for me.

Chai,
I love that photo of you and Leah. You look so gob-smackedly in awe and in love with the little darling that it just makes my heart melt. And she is about half the size as any of my cats in that photo!
Plus quite a healthy head of hair!
Well, I am glad you are finally here.

Does that qualify as a dangling participle?

azahar Posted Jun 6, 2004
I dunno, Krispy, I think the whole sentence was dangling all over the place. I blame the I had with my dinner.
Echosnare is now in the gallery.

Perhaps it was just a dangling participant...kinda like one would see where heathen sceptic was hanging out...
