azahar, thanks for the compliment - my girlfriend is very envious of my hair
"Why is it that men's hair (when they have any) usually looks nicer long than women's hair?"
Maybe men only grow their hair long if they have particularly nice hair? Not true for me (I only keep my hair long 'cos I can't be bothered to get it cut very often ), but it might explain it.
Anyway, it's not true. When I was at school (all boys) there was a fad for growing your hair long, and almost all of them looked terrible. The horror of hundreds of greasy ponytails everywhere you went. Fortunately it only lasted a couple of years...

broelan - I am the World's laziest skinhead. I can't be bothered getting my head shaved on a regular basis. What I tend to do is wait until my hair has reached a length where I need to think about using a comb to keep it under control. At that point it's down to the barbers shop...
I reckon I have about 4 hair cuts a year, so that's about £12 in total per annum

I've just received an email from someone with a woman's name, initials DP. There is only a photo attached and no message telling me who you are or what your hootoo nickname is, so I am unable to put up your photo at this time. Please let me know who you are either by email or a posting here. Thanks.

I only want compliments because it's taken me 19 years to learn how to do the damn stuff! And with bleach and everything.
(Also, I am narcissistic. Sorry! )

Sat, you and your hair are gorgeous as well. I suspect it's either awe or envy that has held back a flood of positive comments from other people. (or was that just me?)

And Mudhooks - one word sums up Benjamin's face in the last few photos in that series of pics...smug!

Lady in a Tree - "Don't know about anyone else but I find myself thinking that one day I'm going to look and there will be a face of someone I actually know in RL but didn't know was a Hootooer"
I belong to a Space e-group {now Yahoo group} and yesterday I logged on and found a letter containing a quote of DNA's.
It was a letter about day, and the writer mistakenly mentioned that it was the anniversary of Douglas' death.
I emailed back and corrected him, that I am, then I thought "what if he's a hootooer and we didn't know either of us belonged to h2g2"anyway I gave him DNA's Personal Space url which should interest him so he might join up
Greydesk, you pay £4 a time to have your head shaved??
