well hares something you might not know back in the good old days there was a dutch trader who bought thousands of blankets infected with smallpox and traded them with the indiginous people of north america who had absolutetly no resistence he became a wealthy man and to this day there are new england towns baring his name ..the disease spread so far west no one really knows how many people died but at the time it was not recorded as west of the misssipi was still unknown territory you won't hear about it in any american history course but it was indeed one of the most successful exercises of germ warfare ever

I heard about that, I didn't know he took their money though. From English, about how guns weren't all Pizarro brought with him.

ahh, the age of exploitation and its stalwarts in the americas. did you know they refused to celebrate, in any way, the arrival of Vasco da Gama in India? did you know that the Brits, to consolidate their rule over the unruly Bengalis - they tend to think and agitate a bit much - deliberately starved them? of course everyone knows of the special nexus created by the brits between china and india, opium from there to here and tea from there to elsewhere. the idea of ridding europe of jews by giving them the homeland promised in their holy text and at the same time assuring that conflict would forever keep the area restless and unable to assert itself, another master stroke from the hiers of Odyssyus (and I don't mean the Greeks!). the masterful strokes by the great Belgian King Leopold in deepest, darkest Africa, another sroke of genius! I mean the brilliance of the peoples of the western reaches of the main land mass of this planet is simply scintilating, absolutely eclispses any mass that came out of Mongolia, wouldn't you agree,at all?

Empire creates a whole load of problems, I think half the reason Tony's got us involved Bush's wars/vendettas is because of ancestral guilt, trying to right some of the wrongs that have been done in the name of queen and country. And that's skewed logic if I ever saw it.

"Hey! We killed a load of these guys before, let's go and kill some more!"

Smallpox killed more people in the Valley of Mexico than Cortes. In fact that probably guaranteed little opposition to Spanish rule at least for three centuries. The same was true of Peru and Bolivia and it's still happening in Brazil.

The Mandan were virtually wiped out by a load of blankets and they were especially friendly with the whites.

The so-called Pilgrims initially occupied land belonging to a band who were wiped out by English disease.

White Buffalo Calf Road, who survived the Battle of the Rosebud and a 1500 mile trek under fire from Oklahoma to the Yellowstone River country died of Tuberculosis and she wasn't the only one. Half the band was killed by frostbite, bullets, and starvation initiated at Camp Robinson after they had surrendered.

And what the germs didn't kill the liquor did and whoever was left got shot on sight. Thankfully most immigrants were lousy shots.

Still the attrition was essentially genocidal, at least as bad as the Holocaust if not worse.

Women were being sterilized on Pine Ridge Reservation in the 1970s without their knowledge or consent.

And people wonder why some of us are still hostile? That's really interesting.

Yeah, you could go into a rail station and get a vasectomy done. You'd get a free transistor radio. In the end it was stopped because it was making people late for trains. Allegedly.

that would have been the infamous "Emergency" launched by Indra Gandhi and one of the many strange and coercive acts of the de facto tyranny headed by her younger son, Sanjay (who later killed himself in a flying accident when the acrobatic kite he was flying in slammed into a very large and ancient tree, which as I understand it is still standing): that activity and others lead to her ouster by elections in 1977 and to her eventual assisination.
