Now Kate Bush I always put on my list of people I'd like to invite to a dinner party. I always thought she was pretty intelligent.
Dinner party guests:
Kate Bush
Stephen Fry
Adolph Hitler
Stephen Hawking
Mae West

You included Mae for her stunning wits?
If Kate had been at the table I would have just dribbled in my soup.(That may be a euphamism for Debby Harry's effect on me actually)

I've just been checking through the threads, and some of them have been pretty quiet. Nothing very controversial going on either
Perhaps the puritans have got their way, and the site is telly-tubby viewer friendly now? I was reading a thread the other day where some pompous old windbag suggested all material posted on here should be suitable for 9 year olds to view, because @Some of that age acess the site'
Using that criteria, looks like 'The Sun' will have to clean up it's act eh?

Pathetic really. I kinda understand that you've got to watch what you say sometimes as there *are* kids around, but we can't lower it to the lowest denominator or everyone will just leave and it'll become a kids site.
Instead of constantly lowering the bar, as seems to happen in every other walk of life, let's raise the bar for once.

A descent to that level would suit some of our Empire building chums
If anyone answered them back or questioned their motives, they could send the culprit off to bed with no supper

Ach, I can't be bothered with them. There are some people whose minds aren't so much closed as hermetically sealed. There's no way they're going to be swayed by written posts on a message board. Probably over a pint would be more productive with some and with the help of a blunt instrument with others.
Life's too short to waste time on nit-pickers.
Plus, I've just started a new job (new car too )that really interests me so I won't be skiving off and spending so much time around here.

I was reading that you'd thrown the old job in (To much financial gain) What are you doing now? It's gotta be selling.
I've had the same thought about broadening somebody's mind over a pint too

Selling again - would you believe quilting supplies Still, the best customers in the world and good fun.
There are quite a few I would probably enjoy a pint with. I think more than a few would be surprised at how I am in real life

Yeah, I'm sure there's a lovely chap lurking under that cold hard exterior
I think a lot of the bombasts would be less so face to face as well. We'll see

You're thinking of going to a meet then? I've considered it, but then the ewif points out just how weird it looks to go off meeting a bunch of people you chat to on the internet.
