Emee, out from under the rock

I've lived in the same apartment now for seven years and have no intentions of moving anytime soon. Still like to travel though. Haven't seen much of the east coast except Washington, DC. On my list of places to go: UK, most of the rest of Europe, Cambodia, Instanbul, Seoul again.

The smiley - tea is perfect.

It's just one big social whirl with you isn't it?smiley - smiley.I've heard you mention theatre parties a few times,i don't think i've heard of them, but i'd guess a production andsmiley - bubblyto follow?.
And as for karaoke,do you get up and sing, cos i know i'd never have the nerve for that no matter how muchsmiley - ale.
I did watch a film this weekend though, "The dish" i've had it on dvd for a while but only just got around to watching it,and it was just the sort of gentle humour i enjoy smiley - biggrin.
I know you are a big movie buff and this is going to be a nightmare question, but, what are your fav. films(you can do it by catagory if it makes it easier)smiley - biggrin

This was a fundraiser party. So lots o' smiley - redwine and nibbles. If it weren't for theatre parties after productions, I'd have no social life at all. Of course I sing karaoke. smiley - smiley It does help to be smiley - drunk though. Didn't sing this time - was the driver for my poor completely soaked friend who was starting to fall down. smiley - erm

Let's see - fave movies. I'll have to do categories. smiley - erm In no particular order...

Sci-fi/fantasy: Star Wars IV-VI, Matrix, LoTR (both & probably the 3rd), X-Men (or is that action?)

Hmm... must think about this. More to follow.

Do you know(and i'm ashamed to say this)that even as a sci-fi fan i took against the hype of starwars at an early age and have never watched one film.smiley - yikes.
Fav. sci-fi would be a very close thing between "Blade runner" and "Dark star"with the latter just edging it.smiley - smiley, with "silent running" a very close third.
Theres smiley - teaandsmiley - cakeon the side, help yourself.

smiley - ta for smiley - tea & smiley - cake!

Also liked 2001, but haven't seen it in ages. I can understand the Star Wars thing. I was young enough when the originals came out that the hype didn't find me. The new ones are carp & were compelely over-sold.

Drama: The English Patient, Casablanca, The Great Escape - I know I'm leaving something out... hmm...

I've only seen Oklahoma twice. Once on video and once live at an open-air theatre. The dream sequence has got to go.

Terminator 2 was good. Never saw the first one for some reason.

I'm a sucker for anything sentimental(just call me pathos pete),if its funny one minute and sad the next,i'm hooked.
As a kid i always wanted to grow up to be the Jimmy Stewart character, rather than the action hero.
Anothersmiley - tea?or perhapssmiley - bubbly?

Good evening

Post 40

Emee, out from under the rock

I'll take smiley - bubbly, thanks.

I'm not so into the sentimental movies. I don't like to be tempted to cry in public.

Other movies on the list:

Like them because they don't take themselves seriously:
The 5th Element
The Mummy
The Mummy Returns
