h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Douglas Adams invented this website with PDAs in mind. He wanted h2g2 to actually be a guide so that if you happened to find yourself in, say, Christchurch New Zealand, you could whip out your pda and find out where to get a good plate of scrambled eggs.

It's a great idea, really. But I don't think enough material exists, yet.

Sort of tells us our job ain't half done, eh? Hee-yaw!

Which is probably why it seemed so Adamsesque!

I meant the fruit. I make a mean (and I intend to convey "tasty") bramble jelly, and I want to share the tricks and tips I've picked up from picking the fruit to filling the jars.

So where on that website does it say how much they cost? It is apparently one of those "if you have to ask the price, you cn't afford it" type of things.

One of my weekend projects is to cut the old canes out of my blackberry patch.

I couldn't do with an anchored computer. I'm lying in bed right now

It took about 4 minutes and 500 or so pages to find a price for one of them... One of them was about 300 bucks.

My blackberry patch is several miles of local hedge .

My mother always used to make bramble jelly, except in Zimbabwe due to lack of brambles. She tried to use mulberries but they were incredibly difficult to get to set.

The jelly was then incredibly difficult to get to stay on the bread.

There were six mulberry trees in the garden - she tried so many different ways to try and use the fruit.

Damson jelly's now become the favourite.
