Rolling ball...
Posted Nov 11, 2004
Well, DT and I have set the date, which is August 6th 2005.
We´ll be getting married in Garðakirkja in Iceland and we will be inviting loads of people to come over from the UK. We have booked the venue, the menu and the wine, the photographer and the music for the church. I have a dress and am working on what DT could wear, at least in my head. He´s being a bit picky - like most men I´m sure he´d really just wear some nice jeans and a nice top. I´d let him too, except I´d look ridiculous in my big dress, and I´d rather not...
Also, we are working on guest lists and will be sending out invites in January so people can book time off etc.
So if you run into me, be warned that I might be a wedding-planner bore.

In case you haven't seen this before - www.confluence.org
It's kind of fun as an idea. My favourite was looking at Iceland and noting the complete lack of any buildings, people or even animals. To be fair though, UK doesn't have a whole lot of those visible either, considering the difference in population density.

Is bigamy legally possible then?
Posted Sep 3, 2004
I came across this article on the Gruniad website today.
It talks about gay marriages and the subsequent furore in Usian politics. The thing that I found the most interesting was the statement that the couples who marry in Massachusetts are only legally wed there. So if they move to Florida, they're legally single again. Doesn't that just open up all sorts of possibilities for bigamy? The legal consequences of not allowing gay marriage everywhere must surely be worse than the perceived consequences of allowing it?
Anyhow, we don't treat people very well in my mind. Why ban love?

Update
Posted Jun 30, 2004
Right - having been offline for ages, I guess it's time to spill the beans.
1. have a permanent job. 'nuff said.
2. bought a house. don't like the system for such things in england.
3. will be moving into said house on Friday, which will be the 6th time DancingTree and I move, combined, in three years. Quite a lot, really.
4. will be lugging over 1.5 tons of stuff from small flat to big lovely house - should be 'fun'.
5. have discovered a curious loathing in myself of using capital letters in posts, as evidenced. will endeavor to work on that.
6. really really want a dog. can't have one though. DT says so.
7. Oh, the new house and the new job are all in the UK, which is where we've moved to.
8. guess that means that one day I might show up for a meet...
9. DT's birthday is on Saturday.

Interesting interview
Posted Jan 31, 2004
Hmmm.
I´ve been invited to an interview with a fairly well known, international company so that they can meet me. They were sent my CV by an agency, and after a while they came back with this request to meet me. Apparently they think my CV rocks, and that if I´m up to scratch, they´d like to hire me. The most interesting thing is that they´re not actually hiring at this time, as far as I know. The interview is so that they can decide whether to create a role for me!
And if I told you what company it is, you´d all be very surprised. Very!
Anyhow, we´ll see what happens next week or so.
