I found a short description of the last episode of Space 1999 - produced for the 1999.

20 years after the Alphans' last contact with Earth the life support systems on Moonbase Alpha are beginning to show signs of wear and tear. It is estimated that it would not be long before they completely fail.

Operation Exodus is put into motion, and the Alphans emmigrate to a nearby planet, designated Terra Alpha. The slingshot effect will hurl the Moon back into range of Terra Alpha in 25 years, but with so many unknown factors, the Alphans cannot rely on it to happen. For better or worse, they must abandon Alpha altogether.

Apart form Tomorrows People and Sapphire and Steele, I used to watch the Time Tunnel and Land of the Giants.

I would watcha ll Gerry Anderson's productions ranging from Thunderbirds, Joe 90 to Space 1999.

There was one with Xbomb-Fireball in the name?

fireball xl5, i think, it didnt last long,not into thunderbirds.

time tunnel was ok to a point, it was ok when they went to say london, in the ripper days, the lincln assasination, crimean war, but they had to do a ruddy future one,with space creatures and all

it was on a battleship in 1960,s i think, and the ship was an experiment to go back in time,but it went wrong,and only two went back to 1940,but it was unstable and they where trying to be returned to there time slot.

Was it the Philphedia experiment? Was that the one about the battleship that went back in time.

I have been listening to some Electric Light Orchestra clips. I saw a repeat of one of the classic ELO concerts on BBC3/4 just over a month ago.

I was looking for the Vendetta DVD at Woolworths but it was not on sale and then I found it does not go on sale until the end of the month.

I only remember the Time Tunnel episodes when they went back into the past.

one i remeber was a man that could go back 7 days to prevent history from being change by a time traveller called zabbo or zorbo.who was the ripper from early london, the theme was he could appear kill and disappear.the man trying to stop him was also from the future, and the one killing wa only doing it to show he could.thats all i remeber cant remember what it was called.jimxxx

sanctuary on a very small island called Ailsa Craig 12 miles away from the Girvan (nearest town) coast where I lived. According to local tradition you could tell the weather from the clouds/mist appearing either on top or around the island. The lighthouse that is on the island is now fully autmated.

"When Ailsa Craig has on its coat,
The Weather will be very hot.
When Ailsa Craig has on its hat,
You can be sure it will be wet.
When Ailsa Craig has on its tie,
That's a sign its going to be dry"

The 'coat', 'hat' and 'tie' are the clouds or mist seen Ailsa Craig around the small island which can be seen from any part of the Ayrshire coast. It stands eight miles from Girvan, rising sheer out of the sea. It is 1114 ft high, 3900 ft long and 2600 ft wide. Geologists tell us it is the plug of an extinct volcano, being active about 500 million years ago.

The stone used to be mined from Ailsa Craig and used for curling stones.

I hope that the heat is not effecting you. It is effecting my feet as I have got bunions making them swell.

I have been waiting all this afternoon for my Mam's specs to be picked up as they are broken by the outside optician service as my Mam lives on a sheltered accommodation but no one came. This morning I was waiting for the gardener come but he did not come. I telephoned him and he will be coming tomorrow.

I have just gone out for two quater cheeseburgers which I am eating now.

I have been waiting for the gardener to come today as I have a big back and front garden that takes a lot of time to take care off. I was also going to get some rubbish taken away. As it is garden rubbish the council (I also have broken furniture to be taken away) won't take it away and if I can have a skip because I do not have a drive way and if I did I would need purchase a license from the council as I live in council property. If I paid for a seperate rubbish clearance service I would have to pay for £60 for it. Earlier on this year I got a lot of unused wood taken away for £20.

im suprised you cant get the local council to take the chairs and things.

all we do is ring a number,and tell them how many bags(black or whatever)need to be taken and the items up to 6 at a time.

we leave them out and it could be a few days or so, but a bin wagon turns up early morning and just takes it,

the only thing they wont touch is,fridges and freezers, something to do with the gas thingy in them.

but for £25 they will.

if its say,asbestos, they send a team in the suits, next door had two spacemen last year, to remove the roof linings that fell after a water leak.lol

The council refuse service is privatised called Cleanaway and they do pick things (you have to be there) for £10-15 per item. They are also not an easy company to get in contact with as most of the time you get an answer phone.

I do not know anyone who has a truck or a van that can help me.

I telephoned the gardener and said he will pick it up on Monday. He will charge me £15 to take it to the dump.

The bin men won't take any grass way and any rubbish has to be put in a wheelie bin. Any ruhhish that is not in the bin they will leave.

My next door neighbour upstairs has taken my bin and is using it as hers. I do not know what happened to her bin but I think she got rid for her old one.

Thanks Jim, for the help, I have done it now.

I have painted (tester) a part of my bedroom wall with sand (very pale yellow) and pale primrose (pale pinky/yellow). I have been trying to decide which colour makes the room lighter.
