Hi Jim
There is very little light in my bedroom even with the curtains open. Even with big windows, very little light comes in.
I hope that your tv colour can be fixed soon. I remember a few years ago when I was living in Grays I used to get shadowing on my TeleWest tv channels but I cannot remember how it was sorted out.
I will be going for the white with a hint of yellow in.
The gardener has come (garden is very hard work) and is doing the hedge, lawn and some weeding. I have done some weeding and cutting the grass myself (1 big sized back lawn and 1 medium sized front lawn) and hopefully later on in the week the garden rubbish taken away.

Hi Jim
I am glad that your tv is sorted out now and that you have a new and up-to-date one.
I have been surfing on the web trying to find links about the First World War. I would like to find out if the Archduke Fernard had not been assinated would the First World War still have happened, and if yes it still would have happened what would have stopped it. I have not got very far with it.

Jimcracker7[magiclink.rip gone altogether. im back.in my home from home. Posted Jul 17, 2006
thats an easy one
-
if the archduke haddnt been killed, which was to all tence and perpose a fluke, the car took a dif way to what it should have and the one that shot them was leaving the area and decided it wasnt posible, he was near a small stream with a low brige, and if i got it right, saw the opitunity to shoot him.
-
if the duke hadnt been shot, the war would probably have never hapened as the kaiser was listening to his advisers not to.
-
it wasnt the fact that an anicist shot the duke, it was that somehow it was said that the asassin was in the pay of the british goverment.
-
and as we wouldnt give any reconision, either way, germany decided to go to war.the rest as they say is history.
---
you could say the same of the 2nd one, if hitler haddnt been an hero in the first, and then caused the puche, and met the ones he later made is comanders in the prison, plus the mien kamp.then fachism might never have happened, and the dissolutioned people wouldnt have listened to a meglamanic, and the reistag wouldnt have been distroyed thus blaming the jews,(the fact that hilter was a jew,and a common coparal didnt matter in the end, the people wanted there homeland back, and he said make me chancoller nad we will have a hundred yrs regin jimxxx

Thanks Jim for the very helpful explanation. My Grand dad fought in the First World War in the Argyll Sutherlanders, he was the only English man in this Scottish regiment nicknamed the Ladies from Hell. My Mum lost a cousin in the First World War from an accident when he was cleaning his rifle. My Grand dad survived the Somme as he was a short man.

Hi Jim
Thank you for your email.
I have finally got sun lotion to protect my skin. The prices of the sun lotion between two chemists is quite big. In Boots for a factor 60 it was just over £14 but in the other chemist it was just over £8: a £6 pound difference. With the other sun lotions the price difference was £4 between the two chemists. I got the factor 50+ one. I tried to get a sun block stick but none of the chemists have them. I got a cap to keep the sun off for myself and a straw hat for my Mam today.
Shopping has taken all of the morning and afternoon up. I am not usually a slow walker but it everything seemed to take longer. I got some black bin bags but I cannot find them.

Hi Jim
I was talking to my Mam about her relative who died in the First World War and she remembered who I was talking about. I thought she had forgetton about it but she still remembererd. It was my Grandfathers youngest brother called George. She did not know what rank he had.
Sadly the Argyla and Sutherland Highlanders are now defunct. I think it was last year when they were disbanded.

use gogle, and write in the regiment, you should be able to find if there is any reunion secatery, and with luck a ph n, or address, that can give you any help you need to find what they have on their dead of the wars.
-
ive sealed the evelope, and will send in the morning when i go in town.
-
its a list of ever h--g that was killed in the army section only.

Hi Jim
Thank you for the helpful advice and help about looking for information about the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. I have been to their site.
I have read the entry about the causes of the World War 1. It is very good.
I have finally got all my rubbish cleared and I hopefully will be getting a new bin from the council soon.
Take carexx

hi kat
-
you might get the pages tomorrow,
-
to find anything, its better not to search with a question, a key word,ie the regiment is better.
-
try (battles in which the regiment fought in 1914-18)
-
also try the cyndi,s pages, they are on all aspects of the wwar one.
-
its easy to locate the stuff you can get anywhere, but to find, ie (forums for ww1)just use google.
-
you should find active sites that you can leave a message, for what you want.jimxxxx

Hi Jim
Jim but when I said I got your post, I meant I got a card this morning (postman must have come very early as I did not hear him, I had a very disturbed nights sleep) from the postman saying that he could not put in (they do not wait long and quite a lot of the time they do not knock but just put a note in the door). I will be able to get it on Monday Morning.
Thank you for your help.
I was at my sisters this morning and stayed for lunch with my oldest sister and my Mam.
Take care
xx
