hi kat
-
we went into glasgow a few days back, i got a few things i needed, shirts, pants, and underclothes, my shirts where a bit yuck on the collar(friad)
-
had to get another holdall, the one i had was from a mate and it was tatty and the zip stuck, i got a bag, houston 50, for £5, it was on offer,
-
margaret, his lass, as made me alsorts of scottish meals, bridie, stoggies.haggis, and others i cant remember.
-
one drawback,(sort of)you had to have the exact change on the bus, it was a pain getting change, the shops made you by a small item to get change lol.
-
yesterday we went to a country park nr east kilbride,it was great, a small zoo, a tor trail. horsefalls,a large consevertary full of exotic plants,
-
so all in all, apart for a glitch last night when he broke a promise to his lass, it was a great few days awaysmiley - discojimxxx

Hi Jimsmiley - smiley

It's very nice to hear from you.smiley - biggrin

I have had haggis and scotch pies but I have never had bridies or stoggies when I was living in Ayrshire.

When I was ever in Glasgow I would use the underground. I cannot remember the nickname the Glasgowians gave to their underground.

The small zoo and botanical gardens sound to very smiley - ok interesting places to visit.

smiley - sorry Jim to hear about your skin reaction to the sun/heat.smiley - hug I hope that you will be able to get something different from the doctor for your skin.

Whenever I have had itchy skin in the past I would on camomile lotion. I have also had anti histamite tablets from the doctor as I have had heat rashes in the past. I remember there used to be times I would get so hot that I would get up several times a night and try cool myself down by splashing cold water on my face and neck and put cold water on my wrists and sometimes bathe my feet in water.

Jim I used to have the Wrath of Khan on video it reminded me of a tie in one of the episodes in the original series about a colony of genertically enhanced people from earth.

I do not remember the blue book but I do remember the Tomorrow People, UFO (the women in the space station had purple hair) and Space 1999.

I was looking in the local newsagents for Marvel comic magazines, not one on sale. I have seen them in WH Smiths but they were for young children. I would like to get the X-Men magazines if it is possible.

I am getting the Dune novel by Frank Herbert from the library soon.
