Woo hoo! This week is finally (almost) over! Today shouldn't be *too* busy, except one of the Executive Assistants took a personal day, and I'll probably wind up being asked to do some of the stuff she normally would. Oh, well.
Tuffy's playing tonight, and I think I'll go along this time. Tomorrow I intend to spend the entire day alternating between completely relaxing, and tidying up. And we're going to make a pizza: we haven't eaten dinner at home (except for last Saturday's squash, which was more of a late lunch, or "linner", as we call it ) in 15 days.
Maybe we'll see "Curse of the Were Rabbit" this weekend, though I was thinking next weekend would be better, because we won't be dog-sitting then and can go for a late show... that might be best, actually.
What has everyone got planned for the weekend?

Knickers. Definitely knickers. Can also be hurled as mild insult; so must be good.
Thongs, ye gods, how disgusting, unhygienic & very very silly. Has to have been invented by male with very odd malicious sense of humour.
Here in jolly frogland, they refer to both boys & girls knickers as "slips"; hmm "many a slip 'twixt cup & lip" springs to mind... the exception being "boxers" for the shorty things.
Shoes vs sandals: sandals win without question, i live in mine as much as possible. Get strange looks in winter, but i get strange looks anyway, am past caring.
Tights YUK; i own a pair of thick black ones but haven't worn them for years. Last time i did the stupid pantyhose nonsense was about 1972.
So, Ed, when do we get the Official Information about this suspicious package of yours? Watch out 'cos skankydawg might just be secretly being trained as a sniffer dog you know!!!

Now...aren't slips singular in French? M&S translate 'briefs' (M or F) as 'le slip'.
Tights: I've just remembered some lines from a Billy Bragg song:
Walking in the dark,
Kissing on the carpet,
And your tights around your ankles.
Late at night a lover thinks of these things.
(A Lover Sings)
There's definitely something about a gusset...

Last night's show was a weird event. And it went on much later than anticipated. But it was fun!
I'm shopping online for a record album frame. The album I want to hang has a teeny bit of backstory... many of us know each other's real names offline, well one of K's bandmates was mucking about online a couple of weeks back, and decided it would be fun to Google each bandmate's given name and surname, and see if anyone famous shared their names. Those of you who know me *really* well, know K's given and surnames- well, apparently there was a female country-western singer out there with the exact same name, including sharing the less common spelling of the last name. So the guy bought us one of her records. It creeps poor K out, and I think it's absolutely brilliant. So I'm going to frame it and hang it up. He's none too thrilled with that idea, but I will prevail... I'm not really evil to the guy, but this is too funny to hide away! <

I haven't bothered Googling mine yet... I'm afraid of what I'll come up with.
Having a lovely Saturday here, hope you lot are as well. Instead of spending the night by our friends' house (where the dogs are), we slept at home- the bar the gig was at last night was small and *very* smoky, so we figured I'd sleep better without my allergies bothering me. K's popped over there a couple times to feed them and let them out, which meant I made potato pancakes for breakfast, and am making a homemade pizza (spinach, red pepper, mushrooms, and black olives with roasted garlic, fresh basil, and asiago cheese ) for dinner. A nice change, after eating out every day for two weeks going.
Just watched a Netflix, and old flin noir called "Out of the Past". I quite enjoyed it. Apparently, it's the inspiration for the 80s-era "Against All Odds", which was absolute crap. The original, in this case, is well worth watching.

So, I know I'd posted a link ages ago to the Geezers web site (the punk band K drums with- here's the link for anyone who hasn't seen and wishes to: http://www.thegeezers.net/geezers.htm ), but I found out last night at the show that the Tuffy UK web site is now up and running- here's *that* link: http://www.tuffyuk.com/ .
Of course, there's photos- but all you can ever see of K is the top of his head (a view I'm not at all averse to seeing, but that's another story completely... ).

Both bands primarily write their own stuff, though they've both done covers. Geezers do punk, Tuffy UK does a poppier kind of stuff which still rocks.
We've discussed *some* of the heavy rock you enjoy- didn't you say you also liked Hawkwind and Motorhead? So do I. - what're some of your favorites?
I was always a big fan of Diamond Head, Deep Purple, and Thin Lizzy, as far as "classic" rock goes.

I will certainly try. Barring that, I hope that your "surprise" will do as a very inadequate second (it's a Tuffy t-shirt).
