It would be 'Geburt' - Birth. As in Geburtstag.
Would the single have been 'Life is Live'?
I thought that they had done a satiric version of Queen's 'One Vision.' It was only later that I discovered that Queen were covering *them*!!!!!
I know they're Slovenes, but I think German is their mother tongue - one of the quirks of European political geography.

"Life is Live" is indeed the single. Took me a couple of days to dig it out and look. The other song also appears on a CD anthology I have, I've discovered. Haven't listened to that one in a long time.
How is everyone's weekend going thus far? Mine's off to a quiet start. Tuffy did a show last night... I met K after work to help load in by 6:00, the sound check lasted till 7:00... but the show didn't start until 9:30. So we went out for dinner, stopped home really quickly, and I dozed off in the interim.
No big exciting plans for this weekend. Maybe "Curse of the Were Rabbit", if I feel like venturing out tonight.

Wow, that sounds like a fun outing. I love those kinds of day trips.
Hi, Poop! You're a very good typist!!

Anyway...the Science Centre was good fun http://www.glasgowsciencecentre.org/index.cfm. You get a great view across the river to Glasgow, Poop got to spin lots of things, press lots of buttons and splash lots of water, Adam got to play with lots of computers, just like at home and Sophie and I went to the Planetarium show, where we saw what the sky would look like without city lights in the way. And there was an outside chance that someone learnt something. Myself, I spent about an hour and a half solving a tricky topology problem which involved moving a loop of rope between a series of interlocked poles.
Afterwards we went here: A536546 for a bite to eat. It was just on nightfall, so everyone was having their aftari meal to break their Ramadan fast. As soon as anyone sat down, the waiters plonked a saucer of lovely, sticky, gooey, plump, fresh dates on the table - the traditional first bite after the fast. Then on the way home we stopped by my favourite Asian supermarket for some mango and pistachio kulfi. And some more dates.

The Science Center sounds like it would have been cool. As does the dinner afterward. I don't know how good I would be at a tricky topology problem like that... you finished it in an hour and half or so, congrats!
For the first time in years, I have no plans for Halloween. I have been in a serious funk this week and can't muster enthusiasm even for the holiday... and there's no annual Geezers show, so the assumed activity ain't taking place. What to do all weekend (aside from boring errands like going to renew the vehicle license tag, etc.)? Sigh.

I wish I could fly on over really quickly and give you lots of hugs and bisous! If only *I* were only on the other side of town and not the other side of a bloody ocean!!
However, K has band practice tonight and I will be home... I may wind up putting in some overtime this evening but I'm not sure yet. If you're planning to be home maybe we could schedule a time for a phone convo? It's been too long!
Of course, I don't expect to be home much before say 3:00-3:30 AMish your time.

That sounds like a wonderful idea!!! Which is cheapest for you, the fixed line or the mobile? the fixed line sits next to computer so if i am online it's easy but if i am upstairs i have to roll off mattress & negotiate stairs when it rings, which takes forever, usually it's stopped ringing by the time i get there.
So best to either phone on mobile & if necessary i haul down to fixed line; then we swap, or prearrange a time by me having eyes on here or msn (you know my usual status on there)
I assume you still have the correct numbers, just emailed you, reply to that & i will reconfirm if you like.

I believe it would be less expensive for me to call the mobile... I'll be picking up a prepaid calling card on the way home, so land line would mean more time. I could probably call the mobile first... or is it possible to text you from my computer?
I'll pick up your email in a few minutes and comfirm! Then, while K is at practice, I will give you a call. Maybe I will call just as he's heading out, so he can send you some bisous of his own.
If at all possible, I will renege on my o/t offer and get the heck outta here ASAP when my shift ends at 5:00.

I remember you mentioning this program before, it sounds really cool!!
*note to self: buy mic for computer*

zendevil Posted Oct 28, 2005
I don't have a sound card unfortunately on this Beast, i have a mic & speakers from the old one, sound card is on my Xmas shopping to self list!!!
The Skype thing is a very good idea isn't it? Bet sooner or later it will take over.
I can text via computer only within France to another Orange portable, so i imagine it's the same there. I get one free text per day, which has previously been used up on the Deluded Frog, i will have to find a new victim of my 160 character limit!! You get quite skilful at constructing messages exactly of this length even in a foreign language.
So PC, probably best to call the mobile & we take it from there.

Will do. I'll call the mobile first when I am settled in, and then call back on the land line. I'm not sure how much time I'll get, but it'll be all yours, and I can have a go at running MSN if I run out of time before we're through.
Got your email but haven't had time to digest everything well enough to respond, except that from the bit of convo between you and H, it sounds like the beer theft incident isn't the first time something like that had happened with the female K. I'm actually kind of relieved your ideas of sharing her house fell flat... she sounds like a real nutjob.
Easing into autumn
zendevil Posted Oct 28, 2005
She is. But 99% of my RL "friends" are nutjobs; i am sanity on sticks in comparison! jeez, if they come to ME for psychological guidance, what does that tell you?!!!!!

K and I have wondered from time to time why it is that Angouleme has what seems like such a disproportionate population of nutjobs.
And while I will admit that you're sometimes a little emotional, and more than a little tickheaded, I don't find you to be a "nutjob". I actually think you're fairly level-headed, for the most part, considering the circumstances. And when you're not, you at least realize and acknowledge as much. If you know what I mean?
Of course, I do realize that no one is perfect. That's why I'll settle for being a sane, stable Tub Of Lard!!

Morning, everyone!
So we get to set the clocks back and sleep an extra hour tomorrow. Woo hoo!
What has everyone got planned for the weekend and Halloween?
Normally, there would be a Geezers show this weekend, but there isn't this year. So, I dunno what we'll be doing. Today we've got to mail some stuff and pick up trash bags and kitty litter. Maybe we can see the Were Rabbit this weekend... K just mentioned he'd but up for doing that tonight.
I'm expecting a couple of Netflix, a shipment of CDs (Machines, Food, Victims, an Exxxile recrods comp, and a comp called "Godfathers of LA Punk"), and the Ed Wood DVD box set to arrive today.

Skype's not bad, had it a few month, unlike MSN though there is no webcam set-up, only talk
