OI!!! Knitting is not just a hobby for little and strange (no offence Batty, I'm not implying you're old or strange) old ladies, it's a hobby for heading-for-middle-aged laydee's too, I've just finished a pretty cool hooded scarf with a bag to match, now Alex want's one

But would it be something proper to wear before Labour Day? And would it require a colour co-ordinated ? I've never quite gottent the hang of these fashion thingies.

that's alright Reef.. I'm and heading for middle age myself.. though I couldn't knit to save my life.. but by the looks in that link that last part obviously doesn't apply to you. Cool hoodie scarf!

Knitting is making a big comeback now it's not seen as a grannies hobby, there are some great trendy patterns out there and some really funky wool. There are a lot of teach yourself to knit books and, according to the posters in lj's Punk Knitters most Yarn Stores in the US hold some kind of class in knitting

I tried it before, as well as crocheting.. can't do either in a fashion that makes the end product look even remotely like what it's supposed to..

And staying briefly on topic, I too have tried both knitting and crocheting. And was encouraged to give them both up as cruel and unusual treatment of wool.
