Okay, serious one first...

Sat here waiting for the call,
They say we’re heroes one and all,
To save a life we wait in line,
It only takes a little time.

Then I’m called up, and I lay down,
The needle goes in, not a frown,
And pretty soon the job is done,
I’ve given blood to help someone.

I wouldn’t say I’m hero stuff,
I’ve done my bit, and that’s enough.

And now, on a lighter note - but still with a serious message...

Life is fun in Hootooland,
There’s people here who understand,
The sort of things that make me smile,
And want to stay a little while.

There’s lots of threads that Moonhogg likes,
But none more than B’Elana’s Yikes,
At times it’s quiet, no-one there,
I read the backlog, time to spare,
But later it gets very busy,
Keeping up can make me dizzy.

I look to see just who’s awake,
Then in jumps Captain Coffee Break!
In recent months I’ve had great fun,
Been welcomed in by everyone.

Funny moments, sad ones too,
Can all be found here on Hootoo,
Support from friends when you’re in need,
Smiles and laughter, there to read.

And so to Fizzy, lil and Bel,
Roymondo, 2legs, Prof as well,
Pheloxi and the others here,
This one’s for you, I love you, Cheers!

Two lovely poems


It's good having you with us

The chef observes
With a thoughtful frown
He's sure the sauce
Should be turning brown

Once more he flicks
Through the receipe book
He's regretting now
The offer to cook

Here it is!
A chocolate mousse,
So why is the mixture
A shade of puce?

Shrugging his shoulders
He continues to stir
The electric whisk
So fast it's a blur

In ten seconds flat
It's as hard as concrete
Muttering an oath
He admits defeat

After the meal
His cake gets much praise
He acknowledges this with
A smile and a wave

Hiding a grin
He rips up the receipt
Of the store bought cake
When all else fails...cheat!

The atmosphere is great
