Yes ... not exactly anything that would be common knowledge outside of Boston. That's not your ordinary, run-of-the-mill disaster. It's surprising that we've never seen that incident featured in a documentary.

I'm not hurt per se. I'm just glad the gravity of the incident is understood now. Death by molasses would have been pretty gruesome, and getting places cleaned up afterwards would have been a lot of work. Molasses would have to stink pretty bad in July or August .

It was not as dramatic as, say, the explosion that wrought havoc in Halifax a year or two earlier. There weren't nearly as many fatalities as Boston's own Coconut Grove fire in the 1940s. It didn't pummel a whole region as the Hurricane of 1938 did. So, Bostonians have not had many reasons to remember it either.
Maybe we can blame it on the Curse of the Bambino. A few months prior to the Great Molasses Flood, the Re3d Soc won their last World Series until 2004. Babe Ruth either had just been traded to the Neew Yawk Yankees, or he was about to be. Yes, that must be it. The Molasses Gods were warning Boston that bad luck was coming down on them because the World series was being snatched from our graspo for a lifetime.

Red, put your clothes on!!! You know how often you get pregnant when you wander around naked ... from sitting on dirty towels.
s
How you been?

I'm suspicious of your pregnancy theory, AW. I've run around naked plenty of times (though never in public), and have never gotten pregnant.

Red doesn't wear any bottoms in public ... and then wonders why she pops up pregnant.
Are you *sure* you haven't been preggers, Paul? You might have lots of alien spawn throughout the galaxy.

hooray, The Washcloth has returned.
Avenging after my unfortunate preganancy with Sporkocattus, I ditched that uniform for something more conventional (yes you heard that right, I can do conventional, in extremis). And yesterday's naked madness has evaporated like the dew on a hot summer's day!
IRL and online i seem to be up and down and all over the place.... I made yet another pathetic attempt yesterday to join a serious thread. Unfortunately my manner of posting just doesn't fit with 'serious' and 'no humour'. I try to be serious but it always seems to go wrong, and as I'm the sort where hope springs eternal I keep going back, hoping things will change, but....I just end up getting bashed and fried Someone called me a troll yesterday. RL is so so.
Anyway enough of my ramblings and rigmarole. It was lovely to see you had posted in your fanclub. hootoo just isn't the same for me without you around......

AW, I hope you won't spill the beans about my alien spawn spread through the cosmos. Those weird dreams I have every night are probably memories of alien abductions . God knows where I've been, and what I've done, and whom I've done it with.
