Hi Bassman,
We did that and that is why we were impressed with the fantastic "pedigree". I really do not know what you call it with musicians - perhaps musigree!! Woof, woof.
Anyway I shall try and find the other link tomorrow. Now I MUST go to bed before I fall asleep at the computer. Everyone has been using it today except me. Faithful friend it is. AR1

I think it'd get referred to as a C.V. if anything. Get yourself off to bed then - sweet dreams

Boy, distances *are* seen totally different--80 miles? Long? That's just an hour and a half... It's not far unless it's 4 hours one way, and not really long unless it's over 6 hours...

Amy dear,
I think that distances can be different in different conditions. You see, if one is driving bumper to bumper and very often at a snails pace because of road works, or deviations etc. etc. 80 miles can take forever. At the end of the journey one has to get up and play ones heart out to entertain others for a good many hours. At the end of a long evening, all the electrical equipment has to be taken down, packed away and then the return journey has to made in the wee hours of the morning along those dreary 80 miles back before one can have a brief rest and then go onto another job. Well then the 80 miles can seem to last an eternity.
When one has wide open spaces as one has in the USA or in Africa, and relatively little traffic on the roads compared to the UK, 80 miles is not far. But in England where the roads are so congested it is difficult to ever estimate how long one is going to take to travel a certain distance, it really is tiring.
Anyway, I hope you are well and have recovered from your meet. Best wishes AR1

Dear of direct lupine descent,,
I get exhausted driving the 35 miles to London. The traffic is deadly, the lorries are a law unto themselves, and if one does not know exactly where one is going, one is treated like a criminal by some drivers. Poor Bassman, on top of that had to play his heart out to make people happy!!. But I can understand that Amy could not see that as probably the roads are wider and the traffic faster moving.
I am having a wonderful virtual party on the verandah with Haiti and Englander - a glass of in my hand. We are all trying to see the celestial lights. Oh if RL were like that and I would not now have to go and heave myself up to the window, open the curtain and try to see something through street lamps. Methinks that virtual life is a tad (I wonder who taught me that word!!) more interesting than virtual life at my time of life. Sleep tight dear boy, a big AR1

Dear little Amy,
Now you remove that foot from your mouth immediately!!You were not to know that the traffic congestion on this tiny island is something quite unbelievable. See my reply to Mr Lurcher (odld) for my experience of driving to and from London. I suppose that driving in New York is like that.
Will you be trying to see the celestial lights when it is dark tonight in the US? Incidentally do you know where Purdue University is? A fond Ar1

Actually, I *have* been told quite often about the traffic conditions there... that's why my foot got so firmly wedged...
And no, I didn't get a chance to see the sky last night

Purdue University is in West Lafayette, Indiana.
It was too overcast to see the meteors last night. I'm hoping to catch them tonight!

Dear Shea
Thanks so much for that info. the young man arrived on Monday and my granddaughter has heard from him. She is spending some time in London as she needs to get up to date with a few things. I shall be thrilled when she comes out here. Still waiting for the Mass card to be delivered. I shall phone Father right now. With an affectionate to you both. AR1
Incidentally is Purdue known for any specific type of academic discipline.? Forgive my ignorance!!

Very dear Shea
Thanks so much.
I've just logged onto their site. It is quite awesome!!. I have also just spoken to the Parish secretary and she has lost the cards - I had had a Mass said for another friend of mine as well "wishing her a speedy recovery" and she has been up and about for two weeks!! So I shall now go and buy two more cards and get poor long- suffering Msgnr Boniface to sign it. I am so sorry. Hope you are well. I've been under the weather but am feeling slightly better. A fond AR1

Don't worry about going out and buying another card! You had the Mass said, and that's what's important!

Very dear Shea and TJ
Of course I am going to send you the card and the notice in the parish newsletter.!! I want to introduce you to the darling padre (who is a monsignor in his own country - who said the Mass for you. I am fortunate having lived in Africa, because whenever there are any supply priests, or priests who come over from Africa to study in Rome, and then come over to the UK during their vacation to help to pay for their studies, I am able to meet them. I have made a lot of super friends that way. And it reminds me of the country of my birth and where I lived for sixty odd years.
Last night my son and I were invited out to dinner. The hostess had laid the table outside in their garden. With candelabra, flowers etc. and it was a perfect setting. The night was warm, the stars were twinkling and I was quite thrilled as it was the first invitation to dinner which my son and I had received in the nearly ten years we have lived here!!. There is so much discrimination against any form of mental illness.
Anyway, we had a wonderful time, he behaved as he always does, charmingly and with much care and we had a wonderful time. They had hired a yacht and gone sailing around Turkey. They had been to the home where Mary had lived after Christ's crucifiction and they were most interested the interest that the Moslems took in Mary. It is so sad that one is not more ecumenical and that we do not share one another's interests in religion more. They showed us a video of their visit and it was fascinating. Have a good weekend. I have been clearing out old papers and it is quite a traumatic business deciding what to keep and what to throw away. Hopefully my home will look less like a rubbish dump fairly soon.
How are you getting on with the unloading of your boxes.!!
With an affectionate AR1

Also Ran1, you have intresting life.
I know about feeling different. I was born with seven fingers. my left hand is normal, but right hand has only thumb and little finger. this condition is split hand or lobster claw deformity. the last one was often used in name calling while crew up. I was amazed that doctors called it a lobster claw.
last year Dutch hospital discovered the gen responsible in family with some with a split hand and some not.One of the ractions was that could screne pregnant woman for this gen.
I learned live with and some use it to get conversations with people who stare at me, because i do not hide it.
I think this split hand has more names than any other medical thing I ever read about
- Split Hand
- Ectrodactilia of the Hand
- Ectrodactyly
- Ektrodactyly of the Hand
- Karsch-Neugebauer Syndrome
- Lobster Claw Deformity
there is also foot version.
