Pheloxi, yellow jello,
One of the guys in the Philosophy class was the son of a farmer. When he was asked to describe the concept of time he replied (in Afrikans))
It is the period when the sun comes up in the morning to when the sun sets at night". The two Professors fell off their chairs laughing, but I thought it was a jolly nice exlanation.
How would you describe Time.? Perhaps that could be an exercise for all of us. It is an incredibly difficult concept to explain.
With a big AR1

Dear Pheloxi, I think you are good at Maths. I suddenly saw my number at the top of the page. I never knew what all those numbers adding up to 42 were. Now that I can see my number my brain is beginning to tick. Can you tell me if this is right.
(68-18)-29 gives me 21. Can I then multiply it by 2? which would give me 42? I do not know if that is right. Thanks for any advice you can give me. AR1

time...I like idea of a"twilight zone" episode:
it is about person who looses his connection with his current timeframe and he sees the building of the scenes of future timeframes.
each timeframe is build before it is used.
each timeframe is like photo sign of its timeframe.
do I make any sense?

The definition of time....
The difference between what the drummer plays and what the rest of the band plays

Excellent dear Bassman! I'm not too sure whether my professors would have approved. And what happens when the band stops playing? Time is very difficile to define. There is a wonderfull book by Merleau-Ponty called "The Phenomenology of Time", and after reading it word, by word, one has a vague inkling of what it is.
One of the things that I did was to try and write out idiomatic phrases using Time.
eg.
Time waits for no man.
A stitch in Time saves nine.
Time is the enemy
How many do you know?
Incidentally the one
To K*** Time is the saddest idiom.
Anyone who feels that about Time is really not living. Time is so precious that every minute must be savoured, enjoyed, laughed over, cried in, and lived.(and loved) Do you not agree? I hope so. Kind regards AR1

one of ministers is member of one political party (liberals with money*), but sits in goverment for other political party, beccause they do not have enough members with experience in politics, the minister does not want give up his membership for liberals with money.
one of ministers lied to Prime Minister and Queen had quiet her job 7 hours after she started.
now hoping that our Prime Minister is overrun by Harry Potter fans if he is visiting other countries.
I hope everything goes well overthere from pheloxi

Pheloxi dear,
Thank you for the explanation of the "summer madness" of your politicians.! I think that it happens mostly everywhere. But I have practically stopped listening to any political debate now I get so enraged. It is however quite good for the spleen!.
I am sorry that you are feeling the heat so dreadfully. It has been incredibly hot here as well. I feel for my lovely plants who must also be feeling it.
I send you warm good wishes, a nice bowl of iced lemon and a super pistachio icecream With a big and sleep well. AR1

Oh pheloxi, how awful!,
I would have died of fright. I really hate thunderstorms but it is quite apparent you love them. You should visit Zimbabwe. There they have the most terrible thunderstorms. In fact, every year there are quite a few people who are killed by the bolts of lightning which come out of the sky and connect with people, trees, etc. and this is no virtual talk It is RL. Anway, I am glad that you escaped injury in your part of the world. AR1

I was chatting with a chap at a supermarket checkout the other day, his son, who was about 9, asked what the chances were of getting hit by lightening. I pointed out that there was a guy in the Guiness Book Of Records that had been struck 7 times.... Ouch

summer holidays we went camping on an island called Vlieland over the 20 yrs we went there we had terrible thunder stroms, but our tents kept standing, but some people were wet from top to toes. we often helped to dry stuff.
the lighting would light up our tents that was very impresive.
you should now that Vlieland is in fact dryest place on the Netherlands. to explain: less rains fall per yr than anywhere else, but is still island so it can be bad too.
quiet few holidays when was on the island I walked to ferry to look at new people were comming to island and were dressed in "winter" clothes in summer I walked around in short and t-shirt. it was sunny and warm on the island and rainy and cold on the mainland.
