Ginger and the have since gone to meet their maker.
Hopefully, the broker is still alive and kicking...
Ginger lived to be at least 21, which is fairly old for a .

Friday wasn't too bad. I managed to catch up on some things that were hanging around in my office.
That sounds like the perfect hang out, top of the fridge with a rug and a view.
Was Ginger a good swimmer? Xena fell into the bathtub a couple of times. Now she just hangs out on the counter instead of the tub.

*cups hands around mouth* You still there Evangeline? Very grey spring day here...it started snowing yesterday evening & we got about an inch & a half of very wet snow, which is gone now, also had a good rain this afternoon. So hopefully things'll start getting nice & green...finally.

I'm still here. Just doing the usual weekend chores and writing a bit. Xena is holding the monitor down, so it doesn't get away while I type. Such a useful kitty.
Snow? I just turned on the air conditioner. We have had a week of really nice sunny weather. If it's that nice tomorrow, I'm spending the morning outside.

Good to get a prompt reply hun , I was just putting some things away here...did a bit of my east indian shopping & the owner's wife in the one store had just made fresh chapati(bit like a pancake or crepe)
was considering having one with mango chutney.
This is the third time we've had hopes of a certain spring doused by a dump of snow. The day'll start off glorious...warm & sunny, you'll even see the odd person in shorts - hiking type - then it either starts snowing in the evening or we get a dump overnight!

Never had fresh chapatis , only frozen. Usually I make wrap sandwiches with sprouted grain chapatis.
Once in a while, I make a casserole that is layers of pinto beans(cooked and seasoned), brown rice, sprouted grain chapatis or blue corn tortillas, salsa and cheese. Haven't tried mango chutney, but the peach salsa was good.
Xena and I are watching the History Channel. Currently, a show about inventions brought about by war. I'm such a sucker for documentaries...

Oooh all that talk of food, I'll be making a bee-line for a couple more chapati!
Just me & the radio here...although now food is definitely waiting in the wings

That was an interesting documentary.
Now, it's the history of the SS.
My little dog, Maverick, would spend hours watching WWII movies and documentaries with my brother on weekends and evenings. After my brother moved to New York, I had to leave the television on all day (tuned to the History Channel) if I wasn't home. Maverick died last March. The sleeps through the documentaries... actually, she sleeps through most of the day. She hasn't pestered me to leave the television on all day, yet.
I might get around to cooking dinner...
Should I stir fry something, make a vegetable curry, or perhaps a pilaf? The kitchen isn't more than fifteen feet away, so it's not difficult to cook while surfing.

Oh ditto on the cooking while surfing...deinitely a veg curry for me - bought some fresh cayenne peppers, bell peppers, onions, garlic, brocoli & potatoes...oh & a couple sale-priced cans of chickpeas.

I bought chickpeas on sale last week (although, I should pick up a few more before the sale ends). One can became a creole dish and the other can is still in the pantry.
Also in the pantry: Brown basmati rice, rice noodles, coconut milk, red curry paste, dried cayenne peppers, coconut oil. There are some organic peas, and broccoli in the freezer. Fresh garlic, onions and other assorted produce... I'm going to have to venture out to the grocery store soon(not tonight) for things we can't get at our store.

The basmati rice is seasoned (sea salt, hot chili garlic oil, Mrs. Dash) and simmering. One onion is chopped, and garlic is next.

...oh, almost got carried away eating...it turned out good (having it with a big thick slab of tandoori naan bread & maybe a few pistachios.)

The curry in question turned out to be a tasty blend of onions, garlic, carrots, peas, celery, broccoli, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds. Conveniently, there are enough leftovers for tonight.
