Free coffee is only available on the third day of the fifth month on years that end in an even number, between 2:15 and 2:29 PM and only if the stars are in alignment.

There are always some stars floating around up there, aren't there?

Oh, they float around but they're a ruly, unorganized bunch. They wouldn't know a single-file line if it single-filed up their backside.

Some of them were designed without backsides. Maybe the Creator can go back and retrofit them later.

I'm not sure what good an anus would be on a celestial ball of fusioning hydrogen and assorted heavier elements.

Although, it would be a convenient place for the solar flares to come out of.

Do people see cosmic wisdom in comets? Do they realize that comets are cometose?

They see portents and symbology but people see portents and symbology in everything. Really, comets only represent one thing: the annual inevitability of things that are orbiting other things.

The Andromeda Galaxy will someday upset our orbits by passing through the Milky Way. Not any time soon, though.

The Glods have either died out, or become very old. There were three listed for California, two having been born in 1881, and one in 1918.
