Lady Scott

A frightening experience, to be sure! smiley - yikes

Glad everyone is ok, and what few injuries there are, turned out so minor as to be nearly unnoticable.

(yeah, we know you're *blaming* Tom's bruise on the accident... smiley - winkeye)

Tom was--I have yet to drive between Crescent City and Klamath, because it's quite curvy most of the way (not where the crash was, though, or else the speed limit wouldn't've been so high) and intimidates me when it's light out, much less at night!

Thank heaven you're all okay -- seatbelts are *such* a good idea, aren't they? smiley - cheerupsmiley - biggrin

I'm also glad to hear you won't have to buy an interim carseat for Faith, to use up to 40 lbs -- those suckers are expensive, for the good ones. It makes such sense to have places that rent them out.

Especially in this area--Del Norte County isn't exactly one of the higher income areas of the statesmiley - laugh

A day later, I think I know what made her neck sore last night--when I was helping her get her pjs on, I noticed a bruise from her carseat strap on her shoulder, near her neck. Oh, well, much better to have the collar and not need it (obviously, I knew it wasn't needed when the doctor took it off after looking at her Xrays, but it's nice to have the mystery of the suddenly-not-sore neck solvedsmiley - ok)

If I'm as sore tomorrow morning as I was this morning, I'm calling in--not sure I want to wander around the school when I'm that sore! The fact that we have friends visiting on their way back to Sacramento from Portland doesn't have much to do with itsmiley - winkeye though I will admit that their visit is the main reason we decided to keep Faith home tomorrow, whether I stay home or not.

Thanks everyonesmiley - hug

*wishes mufflewhumps worked IRL so she could slap some on*

I'm sorer today than yesterdaysmiley - sadface Though since it's my back and not my front (where a bruise has finally showed up) I may have overdone yesterday touching up the place for company (especially since that involved moving some boxes from the middle of the living room)

At least I do have 600mg ibuprofens left over from my sinus infection a few months ago, so that helps.

Oh, I won'tsmiley - smiley (heck, I tend not to 'overdo' when I'm not hurtsmiley - winkeye) I'll likely be going to work tomorrow, though, as that's basically walking around and sitting, and nothing below the waist is sore.

Thank God you've all come out of it so lightly. Having some time at home to recover from the shock has probably been a good thing too.

Actually, I was coming on here to update everyone (I realized I really should leave the phoneline free during business hours right nowsmiley - blush)

Tom went and got the things out of the car. He said he'd be shocked if it's not a total loss. The front end's bashed in, one of the front tires popped, and when Tom went to get the amps out of the trunk, he and his dad needed to use 2 jacks to jack up the back seatsmiley - yikes If anyone's wondering how the contents of the trunk came through (seeing as how a completely front-end collision bent the back seat) the Martin, Fender, and both amps came out working fine (though the taller amp has some scars on top)--the other things would've been a nuisance to have to replace, but those 4 (at the same quality) would've been irreplacable (the minor stuff came through fine, as well).

Tom and I went to the clinic today and got some pain meds. Faith was upset because she wasn't hurt and so didn't get to have the smiley - doctor look at hersmiley - laugh 9She tried to convince me she was hurt, but upon questioning, revealed that what hurt was her bruise when she pushes on it. When told to not not push on it, then, she was not amusedsmiley - winkeye) Tom will be getting a neck Xray tomorrow, since he *did* hit his head on the steering wheel, and his neck wasn't Xrayed (found out today he'd had a leg Xrayed the other night--our guess as to the cause of that pain was that he was putting on the brakes with all he had) plus, when he turns his head a certain way, it's noisy.

"--when he turns his head a certain way, it's noisy."

Ah, ain't whiplash fun? The insidious thing about it is that it doesn't always show up for a while, sometimes not for a couple of days later. Or, in my case, within a couple of hours, with little inconvenient reminders for years after. smiley - erm

Best of luck, I hope he'll heal up fine. smiley - smiley

I can just imagine the indignant scowl, when the little smiley - angel was told "then don't press there". smiley - rofl

I really do hope the other aches and 'clicks' mend quickly enough. Or in the worst case, a bout of two of chiropractic treatment for your man's neck ... to re-align any shiftings.
