There's a neighbor who does the butterfly
stroke in the river. That's a very strenuous
stroke that I'm too old to even try these days....

You might want to get acquainted
with Spot the Wonder Dog, who has
rescued people from all kinds of
perils. He once flew a small plane
over Mount Washington in a hurricane
so he could bring a sick baby whale
to the hospital. He plays jazz piano,
can do HALO (High Altitude, Low Opening)
rescues like the U.S. Special Forces do,
and is the perfect dog to bring along
when you go duck hunting. He'll get you
to the ducks (by boat, plane, or car),
fetch them, and prepare them in cordon bleu
style.

Spot is no ordinary dog. He's also not real...

You might prefer Molly the cat, who actually
is real. I think there is a picture of her
at a web site--beautiful calico cat. The
people she lives with moved a couple months ago,
so she doesn't come visit the local library
any more. She also used to frequent the Post
Office, and wandered into courtrooms and even
lawyers' offices. She is always eager to meet
new people.

Awww... I love calicos...

I named my first cat Cali because we thought she was Calico, but she was tortoise shell.

My parents never understood how to spell her name... and she had a black nose and three beautiful hymalyan kitties and she was sooo sweet

And pondered about human folly.

My boss just got back to Massachusetts
from a trip to Idaho. There were five
cats in the car, and they MEOWed all
the way.

I have friends who have 6 cats. That's
a lot of mouths to feed, and litter boxes
to change!

We used to have six cats at my old house...

I have a weakness for orange tiger cats
and calicos. Most of the cats in my neighborhood
are shy. They run away as I approach. When I
was at my sister's cottage in New Hampshire, there
was one about a year old that was as friendly
as could be.

I guess cats are very individual in temperament,
just they way we are.

The family that Molly lives with is headed
by a man who manages mutual funds at Fidelity.
They moved across town a few months ago, and
they keep Molly inside now, so she doesn't
visit the place where I work. I miss her. She
always came and went in a very deliberate fashion.
She knew just what she wanted to do. When it was
done, she left. Amazing !

Cats ARE amazing!!!
