Besides, I desperately need to have Martha Stewart
around so I can write silly things about her. She's a dream
come true for humorists. Last year, I had her competing
with Julia Child in a toast-making competition. It ended
with a pie fight. Nobody can throw pies like our Martha.

And the year before that, I made Martha a contestant
in a silly game show called "Let's do Everything
the Hard Way." She was placed in a farmhouse out
in the middle of nowhere, with not a speck of foond
anywhere in the house, and told she had one hour
to whip up a sumptuous 7-course meal for some arriving
inlaws. The other helpers included a socialite who had
never cooked anything in her life, a marathoner runner,
and a circus clown.

Surely you've liked *some* of my puns, Shea.
I mean, you let me do four of them in New
York. Bystanders who happened to hear them
as we went by didn't keel over and croak,
or clutch their noses. (Or, maybe they were
out-of-towners, and assumed that I was a
native noo yawker. I was mistaken for a
store employee in Barney's once )

make sure it includes hard time in your fan club. It hasn't been vacuumed in a while. *Looks around at the mess, lifts her sheet to avoid the dust*
And, no, Paul, there isn't a french-maid-costume-smiley.

I thought
s liked dust.
Are you that rare breed that's dust-allergic?
I was just thinking of sending the
to that great field in the sky (Or that great oven,
which is not in the sky ), and putting up some
<
decorations. Thinking is a slow process

* goes to get Swashbot (the cleaning robot from the Lighthouse Bar) *
* returns *
Shall we get Swashbot to do her stuff while you think about putting up the decorations?

Good idea, LHG!
I plan to hang up lots of decorations
this year--hopefully by Christmas, but
if I can't manage that, at least there's
the Christmas after....
Fortunately, the two blue spruces on either side
of the patio will do fine as Christmas trees,
even if the only "decorations" on them are clumps
of snow. Let's see, can I get the Snow Gods to
come in and provide some snow? Oh, wait, my neighbors
on each side will be getting snow next Tuesday, and
a lot of it will undoubtedly spill on my place when
the neighbors get theirs....
