I have also cleared as much of the backlog as I could find (took my bleedin hours), my conclusions are that it is very difficult for me to ascertain guilt/innocence for LeKZ. Not least because I have

a) evidently not seen all of the relevent convo's (some have surely not been put in places easy to find
b) not had any access to the offsite communications qwhich provided a great deal of background to the situation
c) not been around during the situation, therefore I was unable to get a "feel" for the situation.

However some conclusions that I have drawn from thoses and this thread/s are

a) i am sure that ther is no anti-multiple bias on hootoo
b) there is a difference between be anti-intellectual and anti AN intellectual. A significant difference.

I would agree with your conclusions except:

a) There isn't a background of being anti-multiple on h2g2. However, whenever someone is suspected of being LeKZ the witch-hunt is almost certainly going to be around accounts which have expressed some form of multiplicity. That has some relevance to the Symphony case.

b) There is a difference but not a relevant one. Anti-intellectualism is endemic to the UK and most other countries. It affects schools and most organisations (except the most enlightened ones). The incidences on h2g2 are repeated and wide-spread and mostly nothing to do with LeKZ whatsoever. So the only relevance in the LeKZ case is that it may have been another tiny nail in the coffin. It has no relevance that I can see to the Symphony case at all.

Speaking of Symphony, that email should have arrived at the towers by now if not the snail mail. So this is a week in which there could be some news/progress...

Evidently SEF we will have to disagree, I have encountered anti intellectualism in the course of my life but I do not belive it exists here.

I have read the "Intelligence thread" I felt that what was being expected is that everone should write as if they were an intellectual, there was resitance to this on the basis that hootoo should be for everyone not just the super intelligent. That is NOT anti-intellectualism in my books.

Nonsense. This is completely at variance with observed and verifiable facts. Even the most cursory examination of the backlog would show this.

To date, to my knowledge and not counting Symphony or "Arpeggio", the original, no fewer than seven accounts have been closed on the grounds that the person operating them was shown to be, or in two cases was NOT shown NOT to be, LeKZ. Not a single one of them exhibited ANY manifestation of multiple personalities.

Let's just drop the idea that this is any form of "discrimination", be it anti-intellectual, anti-multiple, or whatever. It is not. It is a straightforward question of identity. Either Symphony is LeKZ, or they're not.

If they're not, and they've made no effort to prove it, then I'm afraid I've little sympathy. If they're not, and they've provided some actual evidence that they're not (and not just requests for clarification of what is required), then we have a problem and something to talk about.

Possibly a little unfair - I'd say what was being expected was that if one were writing ABOUT intelligence then it would help if one WAS intelligent, or at the very least took on board the opinions and experiences of those who are.

What credibility would you give my account of life as a black woman in the southern USA? Do you think it relevant that I'm actually a white man living in the UK? And if an actual Texan black woman had an issue with that, do you think it would matter if I didn't really show any interest?

I think what the intelligence thread was about was a zealous expectation that the writing guidelines requirement for accuracy should be observed. It has since become obvious that that requirement is, shall we say, not completely insisted upon by the staff...

Did you form an opinion of what did cause them to be suspected/outed then? I thought it was the blatant connections to the other multiple ones, eg appearing in the same conversations, showing sympathy to multiples or, as presumably in Symphony's case, possibly adding suspicious links (internal friends or external sites). I spotted SL for A and CT for PbR on their first posts.

LeKZ was in an MSN conversation with me when she opened the SL account.

I did not tell the Italics anything about this MSN conversation until after they had closed the SL account, when I was able to confirm that the account had indeed been opened by LeKZ.

I did not feel that I was in a position to participate in any of the 'is it?' or 'isn't it?' debates surrounding the SL account, so I pulled off-site for the duration of the SL episode.

I cannot comment on any of the other accounts.

Because Playboy Reporter deleted the entry I have not been able to read it myself and therefore you probably have the adavantage over me HVL. However I felt on the basis of what I read that the standards being expected were that of somebody writing a "paper" (bear in mind that H2G2 articles are pitched at the "Educated lay wo/man") infact LeKZ several times refered to his entry as a "paper".

The majority of Playboy Reporter's article remains in the convo concerning it. LeKZ provided a very detailed run through of corrections and suggestions. (this is little ways before things get very messy in the thread.)

You spotted SL on their first post. Did YOU form an opinion of what caused them to be spotted, given that they were adamant they were NOT LeKZ at the time?

My own answer would be the rather loose term, "style", combined with posting in suspect places and associating with similar sets of people, having similar opinions, similar areas of knowledge and ignorance, similar areas of interest and uninterest. Style is hard to hide, and easier to spot the more material you have, so it's easier to tell if one verbose screenname is the same person as another verbose screenname. Indeed, one of the things which personally makes me think Symphony is NOT LeKZ is her economy of expression. No offence, SEF, but based on the available evidence, YOU are more likely than Symphony to be LeKZ.

I have two observations at this point:

1. There is currently no information available at h2g2 to suggest that Symphony has made any attempt to prove she's not who she says she's not.
2. There is currently no information available at h2g2 to suggest that she has been officially banned, other than her non-presence and Mistdancer's announcement here. This is, to say the least, odd, unless Symphony has ticked the box marked "no publicity", in which case, why this thread?

Either way, until more information is forthcoming on both the above, I would respectfully suggest that there really is nothing to see here... move along.

You might be surprised to find that I partly agree with you, except that I know I'm not LeKZ. I have the supergenius rating, the high regard for truth and standards and the extreme dislike of all the dishonesty and hypocrisy round here (and everywhere else of course). However, I differ significantly in that I never use bad language, even asterisked or X'ed out except in direct quotes. I also wouldn't qualify as a multiple personality unless one stretched the definition beyond usefulness. I do have some similar attributes which mean I think I can see how it might work.

On your two observations:
1. Almost by definition the information would not be on h2g2.
2. I disagree but am not prepared to explain further other than to say the staff could have denied it at any time were it not true.

PS Your Jedi mind tricks won't work on me.

Perhaps of course the italics have not denied it because it has not happened. They therfore feel that contributing to the debate would only lend credence to the arguments about a conspiracy.

I agree with H. about there being little that can be done in this forum as Symphony must make(or may have made) the necessary actions. But I'm not going to move along just yet. I've got plenty of reading material to keep me occupied so I'll just sit at that table in the corner for now.
