Hoovooloo Posted Aug 11, 2003
I said: "You spotted SL on their first post. Did YOU form an opinion of what caused them to be spotted, given that they were adamant they were NOT LeKZ at the time?"
SEF replied: " I have the supergenius rating, the high regard for truth and standards and the extreme dislike of all the dishonesty and hypocrisy"
You have the same supergenius rating as someone who attempted to log on under a fake ID from a computer traceably named "LEKZ" and whose first post was so transparently by her that you spotted it and weren't the only one. You have the same high regard for truth and standards about the person who lied publicly about whether it was them, and the same extreme dislike of dishonesty and hypocrisy as the person whose friends backed them up because they'd been lied to as well.
Well, with that comparison, you've certainly impressed *me* with what an honest genius you are, SEF.
"Almost by definition the information would not be on h2g2."
Almost by definition the information that she's banned would not be on h2g2. But it is.
"Your Jedi mind tricks won't work on me."
Which makes you either a Hutt or a Toydarian.... so, big slimy slug, or cute stubbly blue winged gasbag? I know which one *I'm* picturing you as
H.

That part of my reply was not in answer to the point which you imply it was. My reasons for spotting LeKZ were given elsewhere in my post, however. You even share some of them. Would you like to try again instead of resorting to being dishonest with your cut and pastes, H? Somehow I had expected better from you.
I also didn't say I had the *same* IQ rating as LeKZ. Merely a rating which matched that claimed. Ditto all the other points. I demonstrably have all those qualities but I can't vouch for how well LeKZ measured up to her stated ideals in practice. Note that if LeKZ is genuinely multiple then the SL persona may not have believed it was lying. Creationists and many other religious people seem to have no trouble singing "la-la-la" and avoiding thinking too hard about things which might interfere with their desperately held beliefs. A seperate persona should find it even easier to manage the reality distortion required.

"Almost by definition the information that she's banned would not be on h2g2."
If the banning process had been properly followed, then the information that she was banned *should* have been on h2g2 visibly - on her PS as well as possibly in an announcement page. You designed the procedure yourself.
===
PS You left out that it could make me a Jedi myself. I was certainly very tempted to fill in the last census form that way as many other people did. However, even re-defining "the force" to be gravity, I couldn't bring myself to lie (or intentionally mislead) about even this. So I filled in my usual answer.

Well I've been accused of being dead or undead which sort of fits some people's opinions of 'droids too. Plus I regard daleks as cute and adorable little psychopathic pepperpots (and they don't have mothers to say that for them so perhaps only another 'droid type would!). The StarWars 'droids weren't entirely immune to uses of the force though, depending on your view of how ObiWan communicated with R2D2.
Of the other available options, I probably most resemble the slug - definitely slimy but nowhere near as large and somewhat purple or blue too.

PS Speaking of colours and since this thread has abandoned all pretence of staying on topic until we hear back from Symphony etc, are you any better yet, Peet?

I just got prescribed another two weeks worth of strong antibiotics. My legs aren't as "hot" as they were, and have taken on a slightly less "cooked lobster" hue, but there's still the occasional spontaneous pus blister appearing...
The nurse has taken a swab sample from my right leg, to confirm whether it actually has the same two bacteria running loose around it, or if it's something different that would explain the relative ineffectiveness of these antibiotics. Two weeks should have cleared it; I finished a four week course this morning and have another two weeks to look forward to.

Not very impressive as "cures" go so far then. Do you think the doctors are not really trying? Or is it just that you may have caught some particularly nasty bugs from an unsanitised computer modem.

In a "normal" person, these antibiotics should clear up these bugs in two weeks or less. My bad circulation, a "complication" of my diabetes, means that most injuries to my extremities take an age to heal. In the same way, the antibiotics aren't really gettting to the infection.

I know nothing of this SL of whom you speak, but I do know about slugs. Slugs are given a bad press. You can't go wrong with a slug. (And hello, by the way.)

Johnny, if you genuinely believe you have no friends, then what am I doing on your friends list? Does that make me officially a non-person?
Actually that would be a cunning use of the VIEWER tag. Set up the page to have a fake friends section on it with just the viewer listed (and dummy links for personal space etc).

Shucks! Busted.
Actually, I don't know precisely what a viewer tag is, being pretty new to this whole chat-online thing. But I get your drift.

The tag is the widget that, if put in the text of your personal space, gets replaced with the name of the person reading the page. It has no real value, other than freaking people out.

Ah!
They've been freaking me out, allright. Although, I was quite enjoying the sense of fame
Off to bed now. Nice talking to you. Hope that SL person gets better treatment in future.

I wonder if it is all the clones which were getting to her. So many people round here who might otherwise claim not to be multiple do send in the clones on occasion. Others simply have their own mob. Well I don't see any need to unsubscribe yet. Just send up the clones instead.
