I am sick of these so-called Christians who are prepared to compromise on core aspects of the faith. One must either accept the entire Bible as the infallible Word of God, or else all of it is a lie and God Himself is a liar.

So-called liberal / nominal 'Christians' are increasingly rejecting core Bible truths, the main one of which is six day creation.

If God had created the world over a longer timeframe, he would said precisely that and would not have told us otherwise in the Bible through some form of coded message, as Christian evolutionists seem to think. There is absolutely ZERO scope in the Bible for intrepreting the creation account in such a way.

I use to just feel sorrow for these poor deluded people, and assumed that, in time, the Holy Spirit would have opened their eyes. But I am seriously beginning to wonder now whether they are not, in fact, being used as tools of the devil, to sow the seeds of corruption and disharmony within the Christian faith. True Christians who have been born again must shun these evolutionists. We must not tolerate such beliefs in our midst, and we should drive them from our churches and exclude them from all fellowship until they repent and confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and the Bible is true. Otherwise we may as well open our gates to homosexuals, fornicators, liars, theives and murderers. ALL will sow the seeds of corruption.

The Word of God clearly says that we are to keep ourselves separate from such people, and grow in Christ with the support of all others who are walking the same path.

I have a feeling that God is in the business of separating the wheat from the chaff during these last days. He wants to see who will stand up for basic, Biblical truths and who will try and twist scripture for their own ends. I know which camp I am sin. Do you?

But if one starts with "The bible is the infallible word of god" as the *premise* of any argument, then one is *redefining* truth as "that which is in the bible", rather than it's usual usage of "that which is actually the case." If you wish to claim that the two are in fact the same, then this has to be capable of empirical confirmation. So you have to demonstrate that correspondence empirically, or your premise is a useless tautology.

Still waiting for your input on how to test the percentage of scientists thing. I'm beginning to wonder if your reluctance may be due to a lack of confidence that any examination of the facts will not support your 20% figure.

So? We can still test its validity. Why the reluctance?

I'm sure, though, that when you quote the figure on other boards in the future you will add appropriate caveats to ensure that people understand its extremely unfactual nature. I'm sure you'd *never* quote it hoping that people would take the figure at face value and without you having to explain how it was derived.

We'll see.

In the meantime it can still be tested. Some scientist you are; where's your curiosity?

Good point though, I hadn't thought about it that way before. Maybe Sam should join us for a discussion on whether or not God even exists. I guess if Sam can prove the existence of God, then I'd be willing accept the statement "the bible is truth", and through out the idea of empirical truth. Any other takers?

I thought the Devil's greatest lie was when he travelled back in time to plant all the evidence that the Jesus myth was paralleled by a Persian cult popular in Rome that predated Jesus by over three centuries. If it wasn't his greatest lie, does it rank in the top ten?

In that case the Bible is a lie and God himself (if he exists and is your christian god - an arrogant assumption on your part) is a liar, because the Bible is wrong on several points.
