Okay, okay, Spiny.. I haven't been on any Edinburgh trains since late August, so the "Express" train may not be that. The fact remains, there's still a pub close by the Queen Street Station that's pretty not bad.
ON a completely different note, I think I need to do an IKEA run soon..

No, I'm not suggesting you'll have first-hand knowledge of the timetables But be warned if you do have to travel, the whole train service is in a complete shambles! And they want to privatise Air Traffic Control....
Yes, I'm for lunch in the Counting House on the 6th, I'm pretty sure I can manage that.
And Babel, yes Lyns is dahn sarf terday, me old mucker.

Hello all, I hear the Edinburgh lot have pre-empted us on this whole going to the pug thing. The cheek of it!
Anyhoo, if we say we are going to meet in the Counting House on George Square (The big red one in the centre) at, ooo, pick a number, one o'clock of the drizzly afternoon, who will be wanting collected from the train station. I am willing to meet people in Central Station if you want, but as Queen Street opens onto George Square you can find your own way you lazy sods. If we can get this sorted before next Friday (22nd) would be great as I then lose access to works free network.

I'll be there! I fI don't get lost on the way, that is. But I think I can find my way to George's Square.

I always thought there was a statue in the centre of George Square

Munchkin Posted Dec 19, 2000
Grr semantics! George Square is big, red and in the middle of Glasgow. The Counting House, while being big is not in the centre of George Square and neither is it red. It is in fact opposite the City Chambers and is a sort of standard grey colour. Sheesh

KNowing me, I'll just be ther an hour early, and then trying to look as lost as possible.
It worked in Edinburgh... The others found me then.

Lost in Scotland Posted Dec 19, 2000
Well, I guess that could've had something to do with it. And I guess I didn't look too lost, sitting around on that park bench, reading my book, right?

Dr E Vibenstein (You know it is, it really is.) Posted Dec 19, 2000
That's true. You weren't struggling with an enormous map, or wandering around aimlessly.
