Oh no, not again
I agree with Pastey. Sounds an awful lot like he has serious problems with women. Try asking the what former neighbours (females in particular) have to say about him

Police were here, report was made. R and Dad also gave their statements, son came home while they were here.
Advised to keep reporting each time it happens.
They will hand the issue to the attourney (?) prosecutor (?)

It's quite amusing that he claims I'm the one campaigning against him, harassing him, evesdropping and banging walls, and so on.
Amusing as in wtf.

Maybe they can ask that he records the alleged 'noise' from your house when he hears it.
There is environmental health off icers that will check with a decibel-o-meter if any soundz are 'too' loud. I doubt that your family even register through the wall to anyone but him.

We've asked many times if it bothers him when my son whacks up the amp and plays the electric base. But no. That does not bother. Nor when he stomps the stairs, or his floor (gaming does that to him). And to me, those are the noises that bug me on occasion.
And again, if we barely hear that piano why the would we start fights by banging walls? Sucker for abuse I am not.
I will not talk to him again, but I sure would like to hear what banging he's talking about.

Just out of curiosity, how many neighbors does he have? That is how many adjacent domiciles?

It's a row of town houses, each has a main part with an upper floor, and one room "sticking out" to the front, so there's a small courtyard on the front, with that room to the left, the kitchen straight ahead, and the back of the neighbours "sticking out" room to the right.
So, on the other side of my kitchen wall is his bathroom and a closed. On the other side of my living room wall is his library.
However, the row isn't straight, so his kitchen and livingroom only share a room with the next neigbour's "sticking out" room.
All in all, his house and mine share the full wall, his house and the next share only a bedroom wall.

I just had an(other) evil thought.
If he ever comes to ring my door again, I won't open the door. But I'll go to the kitchen, where he can see me.
I'll calmly bring out my chopping board, and put it on the kitchen table, which he can see from the doorstep.
I'll place one single banana on the board. And then I will bring out my biggest kitchen knive, and whack that banana in two pieces.
And give him a look, with as blank a face as I can manage.
If he ever tells anyone, who will believe him? Except you guys, of course...
And if he comes again, I'll pull out a large cucumber, and grate it.
And I'll slice a sausage, carefully.

"Officer, officer, she sliced her food!"
I wonder if the thumping he hears can be detected by anyone else, or if it happens between his ears only.

Milla, h2g2 Operations Posted Sep 2, 2015
I am positive my mental *headdesk* thumping cannot be heard outside my head.
I still think the most rational explanation is that his washing machine gets unbalanced in the spin cycle. But hey, I never hear it, so how could I tell.
Although, I *can* tell when he is unbalanced and goes into full spin.

Pierre de la Mer ~ sometimes slightly worried but never panicking ~ Posted Sep 2, 2015
The washing machine could indeed be the culprit
Does he have a (wagging it's tail against the floor or something else)?
Or maybe the noises stem from the pedals on his piano? (That would mean he makes the noise himself, of course)
Must admit it sounds much more like he's delusional, though

Milla, h2g2 Operations Posted Sep 2, 2015
Could be the pedals too, I've been annoyed myself when I played back in the day, and when the ex did too. You kind of think he'd realise that though.
My colleague mentioned that an early sign of alzheimers is confusion and aggression... could be. Perhaps paranoid tendences too, who knows.
