I can't actually imagine a suitable reply to that one. Have you tried asking whether he's serious?

Considering it. I think ignoring it is the best strategy - my other flatmate says he is currently annoyed that I didn't drop everything and give him the car, but he hasn't said as much to me. Actually, he hasn't said anything to me in a week. smiley - laugh

smiley - laugh Good idea.

The fact that he sent it to me after my usual bedtime on a work night and offered to take me to the train station on a day when the trains don't run on the normal schedule just makes it extra special.

He didn't give you the courtesy of a prompt reply when you were expecting to be picked up at the doctor. You don't owe him a thing.

Found P at home today, but he still wasn't, er, communicating. I thought I'd be the grownup and asked him whether he has time for a cuppa so we can chat, but he said he wasn't thirsty and left. smiley - silly

Maybe he's conducting an experiment in passive-aggression? smiley - silly

Once you've moved out, send them both a link to this thread.

Is buying somewhere out of the question? I've seen places advertised under co-ownership for just over £200 a month, no deposit.

Hmmm, interesting idea, but I'd be really tied down then!

All the people I've talked to lately say their mortgage is less than the rent on the average 1-bedroom flat in Belfast, though.

My flatmates have just both announced that they're moving out. Perhaps that's a solution, stay and find better people to share with.

One of them, at least, is moving - he claims to have moved and doesn't see why he should pay rent anymore, but his stuff is *still* all over the spare room smiley - steam

On the plus side, we have a Canadian moving in to replace him. She seems much nicer.

I vote for texting him that if his stuff isn't removed by (insert date here) it will be disposed of.

Good to know your roommates aren't changing their lovely personalities

"On the plus side, we have a Canadian moving in to replace him. She seems much nicer"

...Canadians generally are, those I know fall quite well into the stereotype
