Glad that you're making some progress! Let me know if there's anything I can get or do for you.
I've just used Gumtree for the first time this week - just sold Jem's old ski gear to someone in London!

At the moment, I'm using Gumtree to look for a loan on a safer horse...
Never got around to writing anything yesterday, but then I didn't do much - gaming in the afternoon, flatmate had a party in the evening. She has the most amazing friends - around 30 people came over, and there was alcohol involved, but they turned off the loud music by 11, the bathroom was in a reasonable state this morning, and they did all the washing up before they left.
Today, I haven't made it out of the house yet. Waiting for the other flatmate to finish skyping so I can do something about the router.

Thanks, Tav.
Today was actually quite productive. I rang my GP to get an appointment (next available one would've been over a week from now; I'm sure the rib will heal by itself in that time!), and I finally updated the router firmware and set a new password - it seems to be working much better now, haven't lost connection a single time.
I also rang a woman about a horse. Things have been coming to a head where I usually ride - the owner, in my opinion, doesn't really know the first thing about horses (or simply doesn't care), and he's rude and domineering. It's painful to slowly watch him spoil perfectly good horses. I've decided that riding for "free" (or rather, in exchange for work) really isn't worth the drama. So today, I quietly grabbed most of the things I'd bought that were lying around the site, including my own saddle, in case I have to make a clean break soon.
Tomorrow, I'm going to look at and try riding another horse elsewhere. I'd have to contribute toward its upkeep, but it would be mine to do with as I like several days per week. "As I like" would probably end up involving the large forest nearby.

Yeah, I remember you saying you had misgivings, and that was a fair while ago. Good luck with the new one!
Sounds like more fun, anyway.

Between him being extremely rude to the visitors I brought along today and seeing him administer a beating to a young horse for not understanding what he wanted, I think I've pretty much decided it's run its course. I'm itching to tell the guy exactly what I think of his methods, but he's paying me to help him with his website, which is the only work I have at the moment...

I've pretty much decided I want to go for that PhD now. I tried ringing my lecturer today because I wanted his input (and reference!) for the application, but he didn't answer his phone. I got a cheerful automated voice telling me I couldn't leave a message, because his mailbox was full. He also hasn't replied to e-mail in weeks, and has no out of office reply set. It's like he's just disappeared. Going to go over there and check what's up tomorrow...
Went up and saw those other horses today. They're both lovely, the people seem really easy to get along with, and we had a nice ride out into the forest with stunning views. It is a little farther to drive, but takes about the same time to get to as my current arrangement. I'd have to chip in for stabling expenses, but I think it'd be worth it. Now I definitely have to start that job soon. Pity that hasn't happened yet...

No, that's Amy's way of saying she's read the journal. I think it's her NaJoPoMo sanity calling card, so she can keep up with them all!
