I went to a friend's house today, to play games and watch the abomination that is the Star Wars holiday special. Since my flatmate has the car this weekend, I had to walk to the students' union to get a lift. They were running a race in the park today, but by the time I got there, I think I was wheezing harder than any of the runners that passed me smiley - doh

Good evening, though the so-called movie was truly awful. We had pizzam and ended up making "dessert pizza" with the leftover dough, topped with white and dark chocolate, macadamia nuts, and cranberries. It was good, but in a tiny-slice-will-do kind of way.

The host's eight-year-old daughter decided that since this was a party, we all had to have party bags, so she gave us each a pink bag with a tiara on it containing a balloon, a flower-shaped eraser and some heart-shaped post-its. I was the only female guest, so the others were a little unsure what to make of this. smiley - silly

smiley - laugh It was, really.

Went out to another friend's to game today. I'd invited them here, but they didn't want to come. Made the mistake of taking the bicycle out there, since my flatmate had the car for the weekend. Arrived seriously out of breath and had to take a taxi back home after about an hour, leaving my bike there.

Lesson learned. I spent the rest of the day in bed - caught up on my reading.

Much flatmate drama in the evening, though. smiley - rolleyes

Well, you're probably not wracked with full-body shudders/shivers whenever you get uncovered long enough to go to the loo, and I suppose you're not soaking the sheets with sweat when you get over the shudders, so I suppose, as long as you stay inside...

(My only experience with pneumonia was when my husband had it--at the height of the h1n1 scare here, so I told him not to go to the smiley - doctor because he'd just be told to get plenty of fluids and rest, since he was in his late 20s and otherwise healthysmiley - doh In my defense, the weather was cold and nasty, and I really did think it was h1n1, so viral and not like antibiotics would do anything... It's a good thing he caved into letting his dad take him to the ER when the vise-like headaches worsened--he was dangerously dehydrated on top of everything else. I ended up sleeping in the livingroom to reduce my exposure and avoid the sweat-soaked sheetssmiley - yuk)

My oldest daughter (guess who) was hospitalised for weeks with double pneumonia when she was four years old. Now there's one thing I had hoped I would never have to worry about again... smiley - erm

(hope this will guilt her into staying put for a while... smiley - winkeye)

smiley - laugh Nice try. But don't panic, it seems to be mostly harmless this time. Because it was caught early enough - I wasn't meant to get an appointment until Wednesday, but fortunately, they had a cancellation smiley - doh

Mostly, I just get out of breath ridiculously quickly and I'm really tired. But as certain people can tell you, I'm very bad at going to bed when I'm tired... smiley - whistle

smiley - laugh That's true.

(pssst...concerned mothers...if there's a sure way to have Mala out chasing horses and riding bikes, it's to try to conspire to brow-beat her into staying in bed. You know it's true. smiley - laugh )
