How exactly does one walk in three feet of snow?
And how do you manage to convince the weather to only dump snow on you when you have a holiday, anyway?

Swimming in 4 feet of snow? Your nose must get cold ...

Farlander Posted Aug 12, 2003
angelecon... you had four *feet* once? of course i can understand how this would help you swim in slush...

Lady Scott Posted Aug 12, 2003
Trust me, when 3 or 4 feet of snow gets dumped on you all at once, it takes a week for the plows to unearth everything!

i wouldn't mind having *snow* here for a change. all we get here is *rain* and *drought*. and it's absolutely boiling here at the moment.
tell you what - swap you acid rain and 32 degrees celsius heat for three months of snow/sleet?
thingites time MACHINE
Lady Scott Posted Aug 12, 2003
32C? Why that's not even 90F
Some days that would be a relief...
I think we *all* get acid rain.
I don't see anything to swap. Talk to me about it when we top out at about 0 degrees F (-18C) for a few days, and I'll consider it... but I must warn you, I prefer cold weather to hot.

I remember when we *did* get three or four feet of snow... School was closed for a week,() but we ended up going really late in June as a result. So, the next year, they added all the built-in snow make-up days, but we didn't use them for years. And this past year, school was closed a couple times, but they've completely gotten rid of the make-up days *during* the year, so we went late in June again. I don't know what they're going to do this year...
