A/C just came on smiley - rolleyes

It's forecast to be 81 today, 83 tomorrow, before another cold front comes through tomorrow evening and gives us 67 on Thursday... and then gradually warming up to the low 80s again early next week smiley - headhurts

Ha, it's light again when I wake up in the morning smiley - biggrin But only for a while.

The drought has eased a little as far as the overall percentage is concerned http://images.texas.ynn.com/media/weather/onair/1103-tx-dm.jpg but most of the state is still desperately short of water, and the long term forecast doesn't hold much hope of extra rainfall. Although it has rained a little this morning and we have rain in the forecast until Tuesday.

Speaking of the drought, I discovered another victim the other day. I haven't seen any pill bugs (rolly pollies) around for quite some time. I learned recently that they're not insects but crustaceans. They have gills and require moisture to breath.

Here's another - the great big holly bush outside the apartment that BV and I lived in when we first moved here and which Dewey used to hide under when he didn't want to come back in yet because he knew we couldn't get him out of there, the little... rascal smiley - bigeyes

Several other bushes and shrubs plus one or two trees around the complex didn't make it through the summer.

Yea, but it got down into the 40's a few mornings there so I had to break out my leather jacket and chaps smiley - biker.

I always love putting on the winter gear for the first time each year. You never know what you'll find in the pockets. This time it was a UPS label for my satellite receiver. I'd used it for note paper and had written down some dimensions for the trailer box I was building.

No money this time though, that's always a disappointment. Of course there are still some other coats and jackets that I haven't worn yet.

Yeah, that is fun smiley - biggrin

I'm going to have to buy a new winter jacket soon. The one that's kept me warm these past 15 years or so finally bit the dust last winter, thanks to rubbing against my laptop bag. It's still okay, mostly, but there's a lot of filling showing through in some places.

Dammit, I should have thought of that a few weeks ago when I went to the mall smiley - flustered

Or mail order one. I've recently noticed that Duluth Trading is advertising on TV. I've ordered things from them before and it's all pretty good quality stuff. They specialize in tough, workman's wear.

A few hours ago it was warm and unpleasantly muggy. So much so that I had the a/c on. Now it's brisk and I have the windows open smiley - biggrin A squall line came through the Hill Country early this morning but it had pretty much fizzled out by the time it reached Austin and we got barely enough rain to wet the ground. But it did bring the temperatures down nicely (although not the humidity) smiley - biggrin

Playing the waiting game. Looking at the storms on the radar, watching them inching closers to Austin and wondering if they'll hold together enough to actually make it here. There's a lot of red over San Antonio which is travelling straight up I35 towards us, but will it fizzle out in the intervening 70 miles or so?

I keep waiting for autumn to get here... There's leaves all over the place and it's nice and windy (we have surpassed "breezy"), but the last three or four days have been upper 60s to mid 70s. I grab my hoody every morning, and it's still too warm to wear it.

Supposed to change tonight I think... or maybe we're still in the lower 60s tomorrow... and then they're talking about a warm up for the weekend - back in the 70s.

I shouldn't complain; it's great weather, It's just not right!

Looks like we had a bit less than .7" altogether. Not too bad.

I know what you mean, broe. I'm ready for some seasonal weather, but all I see in the forecast is upper 70s and low 80s smiley - sadface

And after all that I completely forgot to do so as I walked out the door. That won't happen this morning though. If it does I'll get very wet because...

It's raining! smiley - biggrin

Looks like the front line of the rain came through between 2.00 and 3.00 this morning and dropped a little more than 0.6" on us, and it's been raining steadily since then, giving us another third of an inch, and there's still plenty of green on the radar, so we should gather at least an inch when all's said and done.

Oh jeez, we're going to be stupid busy at work today smiley - headhurts
