Well they were seriously off with yesterday's forecast - our maximum temperature was 71/21.7. It was heavily overcast for almost the whole day - the kind of overcast that looks like you're about to get a thunderstorm - but they did forecast that right.

Today's prediction is for a maximum in the low 80s/upper 20s, and seeing as how it's already 76/24.4 at noon with not a cloud in the sky, I think they might be a bit closer to the mark with their forecast.

They were off with ours yesterday too. We had the opposite problem. smiley - cool We were only supposed to see 60 but it reached the mid-70's thanks to clear skies and lots of sun. Haven't seen that in quite a while.

83/28.3 yesterday and Wednesday. It won't be as warm as that today and there's a chance of rain. A small one, but big enough for me to take out a Gamp.

You're already hitting the A/C? What are you going to do when it gets really hot? We're supposed to have severe thunderstorms tonight.

It's been nice the last few days. I finally got to wash my car . Unfortunately it was after dark when I had it washed, I had to be to work before dawn, and it will be dark again when I leave again tonight - and likely raining. If it's not raining tonight it will be before I leave for work again tomorrow, so I won't get to admire the dazzling red metalflake in the sunlight (unless I sneak away from my desk at lunchtime...).

Supposed to be up to 55F today, rain tonight, thunderstorms tomorrow, and a possiblity of it turning to snow tomorrow night before it stops.

One of the newsstations ran a "spring forecast" last week. We're supposed to be in for a pretty severe spring. I keep thinking that it would be my luck that my last year in that blasted trailer would be the year it gets picked up and re-deposited by a tornado. Given that we're planning on house-hunting later this year, I've considered packing up my valuables and putting them in storage until we move - just in case.

You're a smart woman broe. A severe spring you say? Well I wouldn't mind one too much as long as Fort Gosho doesn't also get picked up and deposited elsewhere.

Didn't need my brolly today btw.

Looks like I'm going to have to do something today I haven't done for what seems like an age - carry my umbrella. Rain is forecast to start this afternoon and last through until Tuesday.

Well it had to happen really. No rain for weeks on end, then South by Southwest comes along and bish bosh bash, a severe thunderstorm warning and a tornado watch.

It's been raining on and off since around lunchtime and it's been quite heavy at times. There's thunder and lightning outside and some heavy patches of rain on the radar. There's a disappointing .15" of rain so far at Camp Mabry but areas only a few miles to the east of Austin have had around a third of an inch of rain today, and we could see between one and three inches of rain, which we sorely need, between now and Wednesday morning.

It's supposed to get up to 73F/22.7C and be in that range for the next few days. smiley - cool I'm not looking forward to the summer temps. 41C?!!??!! Wow, what a night!

It was raining steadily when I went to bed and there was the occasional distant rumble of thunder, but a couple of hours later (I guess - I didn't look at the clock) things really got going. At one point I was jolted out of sleep - and a pleasant dream - by a lightning strike that couldn't have been more than 100 yards away. Jeez that was loud. We've had 2.25" rain overnight, but other places in the vicinity have had up to 9"! Several counties (including Travis) are under a flood warning until 4pm this afternoon and more rain is forecast for today as well as more severe storms tonight. This is the bit I don't get - how come these storms seem to hit so often at night? Fierce daytime heating should be responsible for the strongest storms, therefore they should happen in the afternoon. So why are we getting two consecutive nights of storms?

And why does it seem to be my fate to always have upstairs neighbours who have no idea that it's possible to walk around quietly? smiley - yawn

Are the upstairs neighbors female? Women stomp, especially when they live upstairs. I think it's from wearing high heels. When they get home the heels come of and they overcompensate, I think. In college I had three women upstairs who would do that. They were constantly thumping my ceiling... sounded like gymnastic rhinos. I never complained (to them). Then one Sunday afternoon I turned my stereo up to 3 (not blaring honest)... They called the cops. smiley - grr

Oh... and your storm moved through here about 3.5 hours ago. We had tornado and severe T-storm warnings until 8:00am for Galveston, Harris and Chambers counties.
