It's gonna be one of those 'difficult to dress' days today - winter in the morning (38/3.3) but balmy spring/autumn in the afternoon (62/16.7).

Yesterday was like that here. I left the house when it was 39°. When I went to lunch it was 60°.
Layers are your friends on days like these.

Forecast today 50 to 55 I think, high for tomorrow 35. Snow flurries.
I'm ready for spring.
I can't even get excited about Conversation Hearts. I'm already waiting for Cadbury's Chocolate Eggs.

That *is* bloody cold.
Someone at work mentioned a looming* cold front which will drop our temperatures to well below freezing and wil burst pipes willy-nilly. I haven't heard anything about this but I'll keep my eyes peeled. I honestly don't think they can forecast that sort of thing that far ahead.
*Table of impendingness:
Two weeks off = looming
A week off = imminent
Tomorrow = "I say, that's a bit adjacent"

Hmmm...
"The ridge of high pressure in the upper levels is still forecast to build into western Canada and Alaska so that our wind flow above, by the weekend, is going to allow a much colder portion of that large Arctic air mass to slide across our area by next Saturday. This forecast will be altered again and again since the models don't handle cold outbreaks for our area very well.
Here's what I'm going with now. Highs on Saturday in the lower 50s with that colder air in by Saturday afternoon. Temperatures are forecast into the 20s by the morning of Sunday 2/4, then the middle 30s for highs that afternoon."

So it's frosty today and it's snowing that almost crunchy pellet snow. It's 24F/-4C with windchill of 14F/-10C.

"Weekend Update... We have been following this front all week, with little consensus from our computer models until the last few "model runs." As it stands now, almost all data now points to our area being on the very tail end of the most frigid air; nonetheless a much colder airmass will be settling in early Saturday to keep highs in the 40s and lows in the 20s, along with a blustery north wind to push wind chills into the teens. All the while, the air will be dry so the possibility for any winter precip is minimal. Thankfully, our initial thoughts of a prolonged, solid freeze Sunday through Tuesday have diminished."
Phew. That's a relief then
Until they change it again... and until the city shuts down again.

Well, it looks they were right in the second place. Our minimum temperature last night was 29/-1.7, and that's about as low as it's likely to get - 57/13.9 today, 35/1.7 tonight, then mid 60s (upper teens) during the day and mid 40s (upper tens) during the night, for the rest of the week. I think that's about normal for this time of the year here.

The cold has been crazy in the US lately! TJ even admitted to the temps being "frigid" and it takes a lot to get him to even admit it's "chilly."

*Thinks about mentioning that it's sunny and 67° in Austin*
*Decides against it*

Phred just posted in his journal about it being in the 80s in Florida, including pictures of people swimming and playing tennis in shorts and tees. It's 19 here.

It's 55°F here. The "feels like" temperature is... 55°F.
Yep... that's about right for February.

30 degrees today. Wind getting up a wee bit and lightning / thunder / downpours forecast for tonight and the next 3 days
We are desperate for water.
Whilst most of Queensland battles floods as a result of various cyclones, we've gone 4 or 5 weeks without significant rain. Coupled with high temps (up to 39), it's dire.
