Segmented worms with feet, one step beyond the annelid in the evolutionary line that led to the arthropods.

(Our own line, the echinodermata, originated with segmented worms with teeth.)




Tardigrades are usually classified with the arachnids since in the mature form they have eight legs, though they go through earlier metamorphic stages with four legs and six legs and are probably something more primal.

They look to me like tiny caterpillars or grubs.

If any planets, or even protoplanetary nebulae, do form in the central region, they should be very enriched in heavy metals, possibly even 'island of stability' transuranics.

Helium was first discovered, in a spectrograph of the Sun, well before any terrestrial sources of it were found.
