ITIWBS

I remember seeing a study in "Scientic American" magazine, middle 1970s, of the central region of the Milky Way Galaxy, showing a region about 2.7 parsecs across where the average mass density exceeds that required for formation of a black hole.

The region was rather irregularly shaped, with a knobby region on its margin, suggesing a second supermassive about 1/30 the mass of the primary object.

There should be a considerable number of them down to sizes like about 1000 solar masses besides.
