I've just resigned as a Scout, because I cannot trust myself not to retaliate to personal insults

ah
hmmmmm
I didn't get to read the entry - any chance of putting it back? After all, one dissenting voice in a thread shouldn't derail an entry.
And if TPTB think it's "personal" they'll tell whichever Scout recommends it.

*Hands GB some gluestick to fix the snap*
Fix that! Then resubmit the entry - it was good to go as it stood.

I think that was most impolite of Eco Worrier. If anyone has reservations about an Entry, they can say so in PR, but it need not take that form. Don't let it get to you, GB.

I've reinstated the entry so you can read it, Sho.
I was dealing with the entry, laconian, but it went much further than that, it became about me as an author.

I must admit that I am definitely a non Elvis fan, but your article is brilliant GB. Much better than the usual tacky stuff which usually comes out on his death anniversary every year. I quite enjoy articles which go into the "quirky" details, if you understand my meaning.

dear Galaxy Babe,
there will always be critics. the one without respect or tact you need like the judges with highest and lowest score be removed. in this case you need tone down their opinion. one ear in and nearly all out the other ear.
you are a honoured H2G2 Centurions writer. you deserve respect.

before I read it...
I think that people are due a certain amount of respect if they have written a lot of entries, but I wouldn't want to see them have an easy ride because of that. And knowing GB as I do, I assume she agrees with me.
(or not, GB? )
It's no secret that I have a huge problem, sometimes, with PR because I think that all too often it slaps out the personality of the individual writer and I don't think that's always necessary.
Anyway, that said, I'm off to PR for the first time in ages.

I don't think you have to keep out of the way, I think you just have to preview and read the Post-Post Remorse entry before making any posts you may regret later

GB, I am really that you have felt that you had to go to such an extreme, especially over an entry that has been so well written, and because of someone's comments.
It is hard to get enough Scouts, without losing the good ones but I can understand your concerns.
I hope you change your mind and I have the pleasure of seeing your Scout's badge back where it belongs.
After all. 100 solo entries puts you in a very special position.
This has taken a while to write, (most of my 'sensible' ones do at present) so if other posts have popped in that mean I'm just repeating stuff, I apologise.
I can only reiterate what you and others have told me: 'just hang in there'.

I guess the resignation hasn't gone through yet, there's still a nice shiny red badge on GB's space
I do feel that people ought to be able to comment as they see fit in PR. One dissenter doesn't necessarily mean that everyone feels the same way, that's how PR works.

Regarding reviewing the Post-Post Remorse entry - you might also take a look at the PR thread for that one if you can find it - there was also some scurrilous reviewing as I recall, but it and the author survived intact.
As for me, I think that, in addition to the issue of personal attacks, there are several other important issues that this entry brings up and that I do feel obliged to push. One or two, anyway. No, several.
GB, have fun de-stressing at that undisclosed location in Nevada, (presumably in Las Vegas, at the Sands, I think - the one with the Elvis masseuses, just in case anyone wants to know, but you didn't hear it from me)
Makibaka! (into the fray!)

(oh, and please don't resign - don't make any important decisions until after the masseuses)

I went searching for it, found it, and put it into A13114739, the PR Archive.

Yes that was very informative, thank you
OK I've asked Nats for my old job back and she's agreed to reinstate me
I might even start a party...
Wilma you can now come off strike now (although I personally didn't notice any difference, did anyone else?)
