1385 and within 15 units of taking over 4th place in the h2g2 group.

That happens from time to time. I read that sometimes there are units that are somehow ... soiled (e.g. by a satellite passing right through the Arecibo observation beam). Instead of finding out that there seems to be intelligent life on a small object orbiting around our planet the SETI software prefers to rule these units out. Once I had a unit finished an sent back even before my dial-up connection closed after 5 minutes of idling ...
You are credited with these units, anyhow!

Jeremy,
I think that you have far too much time on your hands
Errgh... I am getting so close to Spelugx that I can taste it.... I am trying to allow my country to get that much further up the charts in our group.
I am the only American in the top 10 and one of only four in the top 20. Though with only 35 Americans in the 121 of the H2G2 researchers group, I guess we are fairly represented in a group based off of a Brittish website extrapolated from a Brittish novelists work.

Time? Time is just an illusion ... lunchtime doubly so ...
Mr. Bill Gates claims to have invented a tool by the name of "excel" which works great for that kind of tasks ...

Congrats on overtaking spelugi, Marv!
I can see you being in second place by Christmas!
I don't think I will hit 1,000 CPU by January.
My pc only does 2 per day, and TCK is only doing 130 units for me altogether.
Something strange going on at the group
When I checked the team's score on 19/11 it was 44,016 CPU's.
Just now I checked it and it was 43,541.
Either someone's left the group or something strange is happening

I believe that when someone leaves a group that their units go with them, but I am unsure.

Yes, TCK & I were originally in The Cleethorpes and District Astronomical Society seti group, but we jumped ship when we found out h2g2 had a group.....
I'm sure we brought our units with us.
I wonder who left?

I would try looking at caches of the page, but while I am at work I am unable to access berkely.edu due to our connection filtering. If I could get the access I would be running seti on a lot more than 2.6 computers...

Hehehe
Shellers {#1 in our group} is running seti on all his work computers.
I have an old hand-written list, from before I had my pc rebuilt, so I'll have a glance/comparison with that.
I'll keep you posted.
And you thought you were nosey!

Shea the Sarcastic Posted Nov 20, 2002
Sadly, I only run it on the two computers I have at work, and they're kinda busy doing ... well, work ... while it's running. I only finish about one a day that way.

Yes, you have.
I kept the list from when I was in 39th place, and all the ones who were above me then are still with the group.
I didn't record anyone below me.
I don't know how to check cashes?
Although I do know how to cash cheques!
Keep up the good work Shea!
Tsk, having to let the computers do w*rk!

AGB, you can try the wayback machine at archive.org I think. Once I get a couple of minutes I will try to firm up that estimation.

Do you mind if we carry on this fascinating conversation when I return from London?
I'm going tomorrow for a mini-meet.
